Phoned up the club ticket office two hours ago wanting two tickets in the South Stand. I was told that the South Stand was fully SOLD OUT and that under no circumstances would anymore £28 tickets become available.

This meant two tickets in the East Stand next to South Corner (believe it's S1B) were the only tickets available at £70 for two. I decided I would call the ticket office back and decide whether to go later.

Low and behold when I went on the site a few minutes ago a whole block had been released in S1F behind the goal in the South Stand despite being told earlier that no more tickets would be released.

Just got two tickets for £28 each saving myself £12.

Now I don't want to accuse this club of wanting to rip me off, but why else would I be told that all other tickets had been sold. The only reason that is logical to me is because they wanted to sell the £34 tickets first.

This now means that more £28 tickets are available!!!

i think there is way too much of a price discrepancy between tickets.

I don't think they were ripping you off. Our ticketing system always has been shit. Many fiasco's have occurred including this years season tickets and last years waiting lists. We need improvement urgently so as not to piss too many supporters off such as your good self.

The other day I spent 23 minutes ( my phone has a counter) in 'queue position one' and when I finally got though the chap on the end (who was most helpful) said he was on his own. That was around 11am two days before a league match.
I very much doubt that the club are ripping anyone off. More likely a level of disorganisation caused by inexperience of handling the number of ticket sales post Withdean. However I do feel sometimes that the club are unaware or sometimes are a little too arrogant to care how things like the ticket origination, catering farces, car parking queues etc can annoy the fans who are ultimately their customers. On the other hand given the MASSIVE learning curve the whole club is on maybe their doing pretty well so far.

I also asked where the person on the other end of the phone was based.

I was told off site. This leads me to believe that the company are dealing with also with other tickets.

Could it not be that as Birmingham confirm their final ticket sales, our ticket office can release new tickets?

I said it the other day, but it's odd that it goes from a Zone A priceband (S) to Zone C priceband (EL/WL) with no Zone B priceband inbetween.

It's possible that they're running ticket sales off 2 separate systems - 1 for phone sales and one for the internet sales. If this is the case they could be sold out from one allocation (phone) but available from the other. The phone-room staff won't have access to these tickets. I've worked in ticketing with this system, and it's a pain in the arse, so hopefully they just got some returned from Brum.

That doesn't explain this scenario. The club said that no tickets were left for the south stand. That was the ticket office. Online there were no £28.00 tickets left. One ticket system.

So the 'casual fan' not wanting to pay £34.00 wouldn't phone back.

One hour later they have £28.00 tickets are on sale.

Strange system.

One hour later there were.

Not the real one
Selling 2 different prices for tickets to away fans is not the fault of the computer system. Funny thing is the view is better from the South than the SE corner, even though its cheaper. It's also not the computer systems fault that They are now selling the south out (behind the goal) to away fans first and leaving the expensive shite seats for our own fans. The way match by match and away ticket sales are handled are a flid soup and not to mention £34 +£2 booking fee is a disgrace for Division 2 football. Imagine if we lost gus and got Sam Allardyce as manager, how Many £34 and £37 tickets would they sell? I know it's worth paying top dollar for seeing Gus's team, but what happens if all of a sudden it's not Gus's team anymore? I get the feeling the club are taking advantage of the high demand because of a successful team-Amex. But will they reverse that trend, when at some point, whenever of how far away that may be, the clubs fortunes reverse.
