At this stage last season (6 games), reading had won one, drawn one, and lost 4, scoring 5 and conceding 8.

So if they were to lose their next 4 games would you wanting poyet out? It is clear he know what he is doing and the massive improvements to the team. 4 games is not enough game to sack a manager on.

Anyone decent chairman who wants to see stability and long-term investment will understand the whole concept of learning from knock-backs - including an occasional run of poor form, and allow situations to be resolved.

So if it was a worthwhile question to ask, it was only for the impatient and short-sighted.

No it wasn't. It was a really f***ing stupid thread then, and it looks even more so now. Poyet's worked absolute MIRACLES here, even if we don't go up this season he has been the best manager we've had in decades.

It really wasn't. We played well away to Hull, and were evenly matched by Cardiff, who are a top side. There was nothing to suddenly suggest Gus was a bad manager. Had we gone on to lose the next few games, we'd still want to give it more time, and we'd want to look at why we were losing games - individual mistakes, brilliance from the opposition, bad luck, bad refereeing decision or was it bad management and can that change? At no point would any fan with football knowledge have been looking to turn on the manager.

You were using stats from last season to indicate that we had gone on a long losing run to reinforce your views without taking into consideration the strengthening of the team over the summer. It was question that you wanted to ask but used very flimsy evidence to ask it.

No it wasn't! Two games! TWO GAMES! Surely even the most gnat-brained, short-termist football fan would have thought that two games, four halves of football, was WAY to short a time span in which to form an opinion. Apparently not.

Sheesh.

(And no doubt the question will be asked again if we go another two games with no goals and only one point. I despair sometimes, I really do).
