Don't do it. Come to NZ instead. People are much nicer here (and there is only one poisonous animal).

Russel Crowe lives here now doesn't he?

Oh and sorry, I understand your point, i'm not from round here, just moved here. Adopting a local team to support, hence the reason I don't know much.

some on here have very short memories mate
I am coming up to 66 years of age and I can remember your first post some months ago.
all the books suggested are good reads and if you are going to the Amex on a regular basis you can be my surrogate supporter(I will always find it difficult money wise and physically).
true to you should always support your local team I have for many years but it never stopped me going and watching a game wherever I was at the time.
I am also sure that Rangers plight will be very short lived.

A local club, for local people.

Geez it's getting like Yorkshire on here.

btw I went to see Rangers play Juventus at the Stadio Del Alpi in the mid- late 90's. Your supporters were absolutely great fun really nice bunch of lands especially when I fell down on to the concreat seats after a few too many Buckfasts (that your boys brought with them :) )They looked after me and helped me find my mates. Top Fellas them Billy Boys. Gutted what happened to your club.

That the one where we got beat 4-1 or 4-0, think Del Piero may have got a hattrick as well as scoring an audacious free kick from the side of the penalty area

the cheeky chappie!

what a team they had... we had a decent team then, just crap in Europe!

anyway, back to BHA...

Yes you did get a bit of a hammering against a quality Juve team though!

Okay well this is one of my favorites from the Goldstone Ground. George Parris hiding behind the goal post then running on and nicking the ball after the goal keep rolled it out to kick it. I am proud to say that this clip got me on question of sport (you can see me jumping up behind the goal if you have excellent vision and an HD version)

Thats nonsense, are you telling me if something happened and you had to move away from Brighton you would automatically stop supporting them?

and it's Rangers

Completely agree with you dookieno8.

I haven't lived in Sussex for 20 years+. Now I'm settled in North Kent, and my son has chosen Ebbsfleet as his "primary club" because they are the closest team to where we live, then I go along there and "support" them as well as Brighton. I'm a JCL for them, but I never feel like I'm viewed that way when I ask fans about teh past, and what has happened before I started coming along. No-one gets all funny with me when it's apparent that Brighton are my "primary club".

Maybe it's something unique to this place, but I genuinely don't get it. Surely we've always wanted this day to arrive when we are a club that is attractive to "new fans" and pulls in footballer supporters in teh local area, rather than losing them to ManUre or other such telly-teams. Why did we ever want such a big new stadium if we didn't want new fans?

Welcome aboard the Gus Bus dookieno8, fire any questions you like in my direction.

i'll think you'll find you're being a bit cringeworthy yourself.

perhaps i am - but if you are who you say you are you wouldnt realise that this thread would be pure gold for palace fans. I just find it embarrassing. Just go to the club shop you can see all the books and DVDs since the 1997 which will give you an insight into the soul of the club.

I understood your point Drumstick and completly agree, ONE club, growing up with lots of Palarse around me we had a mutaul respect for being real fans

fair enough, it came across a bit smalltown! maybe i took it wrong.

Where are you thinking of moving to? I can recommend Geelong as one of the better places you can get assistance to move to. Weather is a bit crappy though compared to much of Oz.

PM me if you ever want to know anything. Happy to help if i can!

First requirement would be a hospital nearby for work not that it narrows it to much, Brisbane area in general from what I've gathered seems like my kind of place but I'm truely in the first steps, Would be at least two years before I looked seriously as properties and such.

why would it be gold to Palace fans? and why on earth should you care what they think?

The one thing I have learn't through the whole Rangers saga is that they (celtic) are far more obssessed with us than the other way round, which is an extremely small man mentality.

Brighton, from what I can see, are only going in one direction, up, Palace... are not.

You should be proud of where you have come from, what you have acheived and what you are going to acheive. Its by chance i'm lucky enough to be here at a time where I get to witness it! (and see Stephen Dobbie of ex Rangers and Queen of the South fame while doing it!)

and cheers Gritt23!

Really, you find someone asking for stories about our club embarrassing? To me it is a perfectly reasonable way to find out about the club, I really don't understand the problem, or what Palace fans have got to do with it.

I for one am proud of the history of BHA and all we achieved in the face of adversity.

I've got a mate who's a 'gers fan, so ended up getting dragged along to a pub in London to watch a champions league game a few seasons ago. The Cock Tavern, Smithfields - run by the chairman of the London branch of the Rangers supporters club or something and it was MENTAL. It was absoluted rammed full of tanked up sweaties and there was even a flute band at half time & after the match... I don't condone all the sectarian shite (plenty of sectarian songs being sung), but the atmosphere was ELECTRIC. It was raining that night & I met my mate at another pub before we went - carrying a green & white umbrella! As you can imagine, it was ditched!

I never said i wasnt proud of what we achieved did I? I think i said if he looked from 1997 he would find all he needed about the soul of the club.

My opinion its almost as embarrassing as glow stick at watford - but each to his own and i am genuinely happy that we have a new supporter.

Try getting hold of a copy of More Than 90 minutes by Stewart Weir. A photographic insight into when it was all falling apart under the leadership of Archer and Bellotti. An amazing book that takes you right back to the dark days and makes you even more grateful for how things are now!

Most brighton fans care about what palace fans think and say about our club and vice versa - it causes a lot of debate, as i am sure rangers and celitic fans do - isnt that what rivarlies are about. I have never said i am not proud of what we have acheived - i am more than proud as i lived through it and was part of it.

I hope you enjoy the football here.
