Players arriving on a free transfer negotiate a signing on fee through their agent we don't get them for nothing. What we potentially save on a transfer fee goes towards wages and bonuses.
There's no way that it balances out, you definitely save when there's no fee to pay another club.

The money Gus has spent on defence should have been spent on strikers, our defence and midfield last season were good enough, our strikers were not. There will be alot of 1-1 and 0-0 results in our games this coming season but we will not get promotion because we will not score many goals. We have a great defence though.Gus still has alot to learn his dream of managing in the premier league is a long way off.
To any one that disagrees a weeks wages sais we don`t get promoted this coming season though i would love to be wrong

You genuinely think that you know better than Gus does, don't you?

You don't know how much of a budget we have, so how can you say that we should have spent the money we have spent elsewhere? You're just speculating.

You don't understand the way we play, you've made this clear many times. I know you'd rather we got a 'proper' manager in and got it up to the big man the English way, but you're in the minority. Football has moved on, and most people are finally starting to understand that.

I have been told from a minor journalist we have inquired about the Greek bloke who got the winner in 2004 Charistas. No more info other than that. Seems a strange one to me but there you go

Unsure how i would feel about it.

Today's visit of Chelsea could be key: gus and Robbie are good mates; we have good back room / medical set up / new stadium / large crowds - loan deal for Lukaka? He is keen to stay in premiership or abroad but he might be persuaded?

You're a naughty little tinker aren't you

Not guilty - it's Misterspatch who is the wiki update expert

I see however that Udinese are signing Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon. Wonder if they will loan him straight out to their Championship reserves?

Sam Baldock

Just text a WHU mate of mine to get is opinion on him.

Says he's very good but for some reason Big Sam wants him out. Say's he cant understand why as he's a good goalscorer and the WHU fans want him to stay. Reckons it would be a cracking signing if we could pull it off.

Not exactly the target man we allegedly want but if he bangs the goals in who cares.

I think he'd be a cracking signing and possibly the difference between play-offs and automatic.

Looks like the ideal person to replace CMS if he goes to Leeds. Not the "hold up" type striker being chased as only 5'7". Is there anything linking us with him, or is is another NSC fantasy?

From the dodgy rumours site unfortunately.

Have heard from a very creditable source that Brighton are close to completing a deal for West Ham striker Sam Baldock. Bristol City appeared to have won the race for his signature however Brighton have gazumped them with a higher bid. Seen as an ideal replacement for the outgoing Mackail-Smith and could be completed by Monday.

I think that sounds ideal. Still leaves us short of the "hold up" striker. Still preying for Bobby Z to come home.
