This ruddy torch is really starting to f*** me off.

Meant an extra hour and a bit on the road home last night, does anyone know if it's route could cause traffic problems getting into Lewes from Brighton tonight?

Update: Just looked, seems it's going through Lewes round about now so should be ok.

Still...glad I shared.

I saw on one of B&H buses electronic timetable boards that traffic was disrupted in Lewes between 1.00pm. and 3.30pm...

Nice to know they timed the torch to allow BHA fans easy entry to The Dripping Pan

It's gonna be passing just up the road from me in about an hour.
Didn't think I'd be at all bothered, but now it's here I'm a bit excited.

Just gone hurtling past - one sponsor's lorry after another playing gay Europop, then someone dressed as a chav with a glorified cigarette lighter.

And that was that.

Truly "once in a lifetime" stuff.

It's going past the bottom of my road soon and I'm watching all the people trooping down to watch it. They remind me of the people you see watching tennis or when a member of the royal family is in town, grinning women waving little union flags.
Personally I'll wait for the actual sport to start.

Sounds like when the Tour de France came to Brighton in '93. Some pals and I waited up near Hollingbury golf course for about an hour, then the support cars and pelaton whizzed past in the blink of an eye...

As for me it has become rather sad,at the 'end of each town' it is put back into the van an driven to the next venue. Then we have the celebs getting in on the act and with non local runners carrying it the whole thing has become a farce. Having said that i would have waited and given full support if Eddie Kidd could have walked it,but then maybe someone said that would take to long ? Yet is that not what it is all about ?
