This is a shame, but I think it is important that the club are seen to be acting on their neighbour's-to-be concerns.

This does make me glad that Perry is still here guiding the application - he is the man to deliver this project.

So this place they're complaining about, what exactly is it currently used for? Is there squirrel that needs re-homing?

As for noise pollution....not as if they're gonna get fatboy to DJ as background noise to certain training exercises.....

Surely this will bring increased revenue to shops as fans will want to watch the club train and go buy a drink and a paper?

Oh I dunno! Everytime we want to build something, some local town hick is against it

Nimbys strike again. I don't see what anyone can complain about. It's a training ground, not a stadium. It's no wonder nothing ever gets built around here when all everyone does is complain.

Unfortunately there is no site in the area completely isolated from residential areas (no matter how few residents actually exist) so we're bound to come up against these obstacles.

In the grand scheme of things, considering the past 18 years, I'm sure there have been worse times to be a fan...

Trying to find land that hasnt got some form of environmental desgination and/or located next to housing must be a nightmare in Sussex.

Yes indeed, but having facilities, or even the promise of them, is a key component in our cause when we are trying to recruit top class players and staff. 'Making do' at the Uni will just not cut it with real quality prospects.

Much-a-do about nothing really. The lady in question did say Albion would probably be Marsh Barns neighbours but they wanted a few details ironed-out. Not really opposing the developement but the club by working with the residents will have to wait a little longer to get approval.

Annoying I know. At least the club are doing the right thing in consulting with the neighbours. I think when it is built it might actually raise the value of their own houses especially when you have premiership superstars training next door.

Doesn't sound too unreasonable to me. Surely it's right that people who live near major developments, of whatever kind, should be allowed to have their say about it and to register any concerns they may have so long as they're not too absurd? If this lady is representative it sounds as though there is an acceptance of the development in principle, just some changes to the detail.

Bloody women interfering in football matters again. She needs to spend some time with Kumquat!

:moo:
IMO she's being pretty reasonable. A damn sight more than the Falmer lot, anyway.
Just trying to minimize any disruptions to their tea parties.
