Just curious, is there a date that clubs work to when listing there in contract players or does it just go on under the radar so to speak, so it's going on now?

Who (from 1st team squad) do you think Gus will put on the market? Having only really lost Nav's he'll need some turnover if we're to improve. I'd include

Ankergren
Painter
Harley
Dicker
Bergkamp
Hoskins (I'd like to see him stay but think a punch up occured somewhere)

And I might listen to offers for Noone given we have 3 wide men and generally only play 1

Think contracts expire on 30th June.

I was thinking of the non expiring. It seems that some clubs are publicly saying we want to sell this fella (who has a contract) as he doesn't feature. We've not said a dicky (yet) other than the expiring contracts of GK's and Navs so was wondering if statements were made or it's just down to the players and agents to get on with it and find another club if they want to play - having got the nod from Gus

They will only go on the Transfer List if they request it. Gus has already said that he won't stand in any players way if they wish to look for other clubs ( those players he has told will not be in his plans next season )

Whats this? Hadn't heard about this, does that explain why he's out on loan then?

OK so what you're saying is that the club don't go out and say "we're inviting offers for plays A, B, C etc".

I'd have thought any player not in his plans (won't play and no future development opportunity) then the club would want off the payroll asap ... almost regardless of the fee they get

No ... only a supposition. Think there was something on here and then he was gonna be bundled off to B'muff without anyone telling him, then he ends up in Sheff looking pretty fed up. Was never really given much of a chance here and seemed odd that we'd buy, hardly play him (appreciate the injury) and then pack him off

Not sure that Gus has spoken to people yet, and probably waiting to see who he can get first. No point selling Ankergren until a new keeper comes in.

Same with Painter, if we get Mattocks he will be surplus to requirements but until then he is our only left back especially is Spurs snap up Grant Hall.

Gus has said he's spoken to all the players who are surplus to requirements, so they will have informed their own agents, who will then tout them round for business via other agents and direct to clubs etc. I'm sure the people that matter are aware of who's avaialble, even if we aren't.

Indeed. They may ask to be listed but Gus has said if they want to sit in the stands and run the remaining year down (players he doesn't want) then they are free to do that or go out and get loans.

I guess if clubs particularly want a certain player then a nominal fee may be involved or the player in question may just get a contract release.

Lots of confusing options for sure!
