I think this is worth a new thread, rather then dropped into page 42673 of that other mess.

Some very encouraging comments from our Vic, including one particular sentence which could be quite key;

He told Seagulls.co.uk, "I'd been out for a long time and I've suffered in those three months. When you are out for a long time, you lose heart - that's normal."

"But, thanks to the people around me at the club, who have helped me a lot mentally to get better and enjoy myself a bit, I'm now ready to play."

"I'm happy here at Brighton, people treat me well. The city's good, we live well, and despite the cold I feel happy. Life is quite good for me, I just want to play now."

BOOM.

If he's fit he is going to tear this league a new arsehole.

In his brief appearances so far he has already scored a worldy and had a top class assist for a last minute winner.

Loved the way the team mobbed him after the goal, I'm guessing he is pretty popular with them

This makes me extremely happy, I had given up all hope of watching him again but seeing him get on the pitch again on Saturday was superb regardless of his absolutely Don assist that he got!! I think the players reaction said a lot too, they went straight to him and he embraced them all, didn't strike me as the actions of a mercenary or a player who wasn't involved with the team.

This is where the management's policy of not discussing injuries or team selection pays dividends.

I'd lost all hope of him playing again and this has provided a massive fillip (until the next injury)

Interesting, the 'mentally' bit. A friend told me 2-3 weeks ago that he had heard his problems were more mental than physically.

Good lad. Really glad to hear.
He could play a MASSIVE part in our promotion push.

Very much so, said to several mates when we signed him that if we can get him fit enough for 15 games this season he could well be the difference between just outside the playoffs and just sneaking into them.

What's interesting is that his comments kinda suggest that he does accept his problems are mental rather than physical. If he's over them...well, sky's the limit.

Here's hoping.

I wouldn't be surprised if he read the crap people have put on here about him. Those same people now think he is the chosen one after 20 mins of play.

We all play a part in our players future and should support through thick and thin.

It's been suggested before that the problems are mental rather than physical, infact I think it was even suggested during his time at Valencia.
