Joe Hart. He's about the only one that is guaranteed his place. All others are either out of form or injured half the bloody time.

long term? joe hart! young, confident, vocal, guarenteed to play every game, the whole game is in front of him, and the best candidate at this current moment in time.

yes parker & gerrard are great leaders but they wont be around too much longer.

If capello wants a short term fix though then gerrard for me.

The Championship.
Parker.

Never in the headlines for the wrong reasons, only the right. Gets on with the game in a professional manner and IMO deserves to be captain of this country.

Just seen this tweet:

JUST IN:Capello to Rai1:"I completely disagree with the FA about the John Terry decision,n I have told that to the chairman"

What chances the old farts at the FA decide that a new manager could be the best bet for the Euros? At this late stage the compo would be next to nothing (relatively speaking) surely?

Biggest problem may be that the popular choice is otherwise occupied at present but that might be no hinderence as I really can't see the International Committee coping with 'Arry's antics.

The popular choice has a job already. He's the current England manager

If Cappello was staying it would be Rooney, when he plays; in the short term Gerrard but like many I would like to see it given to Scott Parker.
