Why did they keep him on he was blatantly injured and has probaly done more damage trying to walk around and play he went off straight away almost. bad management. villa won't be happy that pearson did that risking a much larger injury

Aside from the piercing insight from the 2nd poster here, I don't know - was he the player who went off after they'd used all their subs? Did he play for much longer? Good point though...

He was their 3rd sub. After he finally had to go off as a result of Bridcutt's challenge they were then down to 8. Hence why they tried to see if he could run it off I suppose.

Strange one wasn't it? Got subbed on then seemed injured, as you say I would imagine Villa are far from impressed..

Nothing strange at all. He got injured once he came on. The reason he didn't go off immediately was because they'd used up all their subs and already had two sent off...as I explained earlier.

I know that, I meant when did he get injured? Was it Bridcutt, because I swear he touched the ball about once.

Yep, the Bridcutt challenge that got him booked. Delfounso (sp.) had only been on a few minutes I think when that challenge went in.

Injury was caused by Bridcutt's very heavy tackle for which he was yellow carded. As they had used all 3 subs he tried to play on as most, I suspect, would also do.

I didn't think it was heavy and in fact a soft booking...the dive he took probably caused the injury IMO

fair enough - just quoting from JB's radio commentary where it sounded as if he risked getting sent off too. Clearly some strange refereeing decisions again today.

Gus is saying they are considering appealing Spaz's red card. Any thoughts?

From my vantage point it looked a bit harsh. I'd like to see the replay before deciding it definitely didn't deserve a red card.
