Footballers and Bankers

Bankers are the current bete noirs of society and with good reason. But why do top footballers get away with it when bankers are the targets of so much resentment?
Taking (nothing personal, just an example) Ryan Giggs: His estimated earnings are apparantly £4.1 Million p.a. plus bonuses. He has also been knighted. There is not a campaign to have his OBE take away or have his bonuses cut. Yet if he took a pay cut to £40000/week (still leaving him with £40K/wek) then the reduction would be equal to £1/ticket for Liverpool home games. If every player in the squad took a similar sized (%) cut then ticekts could be free! No doubt this principal would apply at every top club.
These wages are as unimaginable and 'out of touch with reality' as those of the wealthiest bankers and the cost is very much coming out of pockets. Yet we dont seem to mind.

Yeah, I heard JFC and Dunk have been dealing in sub-prime mortgages then selling them on knowing full well the borrower is going to default. It was also Bloom who encouraged CMS to spread the risk as widely as possible to minimise exposure to the debt of other banks.

Not directly,but ask yourself why is the world or Europe in such a financial mess.......because those that do true work,Doctors/Nurses etc are rewarded with pittance in comparison to obscene amounts footballers receive.

Err, since when were Doctors paid a pittance? Last time i checked the average wage for a GP was ever so slightly above the minimum wage.......

average wage for a gp is around £70-£80k a year..working mon-fri...we should have a collection at next home game!!
yes footballers get an obscene amount of amount, bankrolled by sky money & ridiculous amount charged at the gate..
there is not enough public outrage for change...so keep calm & carry on x
