no only since early 80's, regular at gillingham, soaked at withdean regularly, season ticket holder that also goes away.so i know what a truly awful striker is and it is'nt barnes who is constantly played out of position !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope that cleared that up ;-)

No, I'm afraid I have to agree with Vulture here, Barnes is not good enough at this level. Last year was OK because he got numerous chances per game, this year he isn't getting as many and the ones he does get he misses. Take today for example, there were quite a few times when we had very promising attacks but as soon as the ball went to Barnes they broke down. He is only young and can improve hopefully but at present he is nowhere good enough for our first team. Injurys have played a big part in the team that Gus picks, I can only hope that when we have a fully fit squad (will it ever happen?) Barnes at the level he is wont get near it.

None of that stuff has anything to do with barnes... At the end of the day he crap at this level, yes he was ok last season but now he just seems lazy, plays to deep, sloppy passing, instead of taking a shot on goal he passes it down the wings again, when he does finally shoots its more of a rugby kick, hes just not what be need as a foward.
