West Ham are ready to launch an ambitious bid to bring crowd favourite Bobby Zamora back to Upton Park.

The England forward is ready to leave Fulham after falling out of favour with manager Martin Jol and is a target for several Barclays Premier League clubs.

However, he is reluctant to leave London, where he and his family are settled.

Despite the evident gamble, Zamora would be willing to drop down a division in the hope of making a quick return to the top flight with Sam Allardyce's side.

The 30-year-old is valued at around £8million and would stretch West Ham's budget but his signing would be a massive boost for the club he helped out of the Championship in 2005.

Sunderland, Aston Villa and Everton are also interested in Zamora but while Sunderland could afford him the others will have to sell first. Tottenham, who have been linked with Zamora in the past, are looking for younger players.

Please take him and keep him until he retires so we don't ever have to have another 'BZ coming back to BHA thread.' Ta.

Why are we entertaining this? He'll go to Sunderland, or someone like them, he won't drop out of the Premier League. He has no reason to. Maybe a loan move for the rest of the season and then consider his options next summer. West Ham should get themselves promoted, I wouldn't be suprised to see him go back there, but not this season.

Didn't seem that way when he was there, maybe it's one of those retrospective things, like how Leeds fans all loved Poyet when he was there now. :lolol:

I think it would be a shame if he dropped out of the Premiership, especially with the Euros coming up, but it seems he wants to stay in London which doesn't leave that many options and West Ham have probably got the same chance of being there next season as QPR.

I've said it for about four years and it will obviously never happen but Arsenal should sign him, imo.

Aside from Bristol as a kid and then his time with us (which isn't exactly a million miles from the capital), he's rejected moves away from London several times.

NO chance Tony would let the Irons get him ahead of us & even less chance he would go there over us, so 0 X <0 = Father Husband Pilchard

My impression was that West Ham perma-whining fans seriously underappreciated the Bobster while he was there, despite his getting them promoted?

All the West Ham fans I know hated him, except for that start to the season he had where he scored a load of goals in the opening few games. In fact, I know more than a few who contemptuously referred to him as "the Spurs reject".

Has anyone else heard the rumour that Zamora will join us on loan in January with us getting first refusal in the summer? I'm not sure the source is reliable in the slightest but apparantly we would pay all of his 45k p/w wages and a permanent deal would cost us 5 million!

I pissed myself laughing when I was told which was met with a 'wait and see' I wont be holding my breath!

If he goes back to West Ham good luck to him. Its the club he has supported man and boy. I'd love him to come back to us, but realise how unrealistic this would be, when transfer fees and wages are as they are.

I reckon he's coming back here!! What do others think? A mate of a mate of someone who lives near Bobby told me in the pub that Gus has already been in touch and that its nailed on that Zamor-

Very unlikely he'll go back to West Ham after the way the fans treated him last time. Plus West Ham are broke and can't afford his transfer fee.
