I am a supporter coming back on the bus to Rottingdean. As I understand, there is Smugglers Night tomorrow night from 3 - 10. Does anyone know if there is a proposed alternate route?

Earlier in the season it went down through Ovingdean so I guess it might do that again if the road is closed?

How can the buses turn around and come back? Is the whole road closed or just from Steyning Road to the lights at A259? I thought the Smugglers night was also on the green?

Rottingdean Smugglers Night
High Street closed from 3.30pm until 10pm on Saturday 3 December

From 3.30pm until 10pm on Saturday 3 December, the High Street in Rottingdean will be closed for Smugglers Night. During this time, buses on services 2 and 2A will terminate at The Green in Rottingdean. Brief closures of The Green are also scheduled to take place on a rolling basis from approximately 7pm, but these should not adversely affect bus services. Football special Route R will terminate at The Green on the return journeys from the Amex Stadium. Some delays may also occur in the area along the coast road whilst the event is taking place and the parades cross the A259.
