Looks like an excellent documentary on the purple one followed by the film Purple Rain.

I have always rated Prince as an amazingly talented artist and have seen him live twice and it was top quality.

If memory serves me correct the actual film Purple Rain was rushed out, filmed in 6 weeks so vaguely remember watching it once and that was it so looking forward to seeing it again.

Still off out for a meal in Worthing so all digi-boxed for Saturday night.

Enjoy..........

It was a reasonably peachy (if not purple) show. What a talented bloke - played bass, lead, drums, keyboards, wrote and produced his own music and could give Wacko Jacko a run for his money in the dancing department. Fascinating opening footage of him going mute on American Bandstand.

Just watching the first part and not the film, he is a tremendous artist to say the least.

Just found 6 Prince CDs to put the iPod, anyone got a copy of Purple Rain I could borrow, pretty please

I saw him in 1981 and he got canned off the stage. Quite right too - silly person playing to a crowd of baying rednecks wearing almost-mankini underwear and make-up and poseing like a fairy. Borat might have been impressed, for the comedy value perhaps.

Sadly, I was too far from the stage to lob anything, and I accidentally felt a bit of sympathy for him.

Forgotten what a great film this was - Purple Rain.

Big up to Prince as well supported and stayed in his home city of Minneapolis all his life.

Very few current pop musicians can play every instrument in their band like he could

The first five and the last 27 albums he released were all a bit shit - essentially tedious funk dirge - but 1999 and Sign of the Times were decent.

Just corrected that for you
