Little bands no one's ever heard of.

I'm sure most of you will agree, but for me at least anyway, one of the most exciting things in life is discovering a band you really like. Listening to The Pixies, Talking Heads, Sonic Youth et al for the first time was like a pleasant smack in the face. Having given most of the 'big' guns a go, I'm now on a journey to dig up as many 'below the radar' bands as I can.

Just unearthed this little beauty:

Very Massive Attack. Plus she's fit.

Any recommendations muchly appreciated.

I'd check out the Albums of the year 11 thread that started today for a few gems from this past year.

The Indelicates. At least I don't think anyone's heard of them...

Difficult to pick one song as each track of both of their albums vary so much one to the other, but I like this one. Plenty more out there on YouTube or iTunes...

Bandcamp.com is excellent for just this very thing. I've discovered so much great music on there. Some of my favourites are :

Angerbird - Canadian Lo-Fi singer/songwriter. The definition of kooky genius
Tiny Vipers - Seattle based female singer/songwriter. Beautifully exquisite tunes.
Sophie Madeleine - Brighton girl

...and one that I discovered last week is a band called Stone Darling. They sound like a cross between Raveonettes/Beach Boys/ REM

Back in my yoof, I went to see these chaps, play The Zap, and jolly good fun it was too.

Great thread. I need to sit down with this and a pen and paper a little later. I feel a little topping up of the iPod coming on.
