Coventry - a realistic chance of getting 3 points?

Understandably this site has made pretty grim reading over the last 36 hours but I think we need to draw a line under the Southampton game (we were always gonna get beaten, they are better than us) and move on. We're not the best team in this division but we're not the worst either and mid-table in April will be just fine for me. We should beat Coventry and that's something to look forward to.

I think that we will have El Abd, Buckley and possibly Hoskins and Vicente available - no isn't that cause for optimism? We need to get behind the lads and roar them on to victory and not let last weekends defeat get to us.

SEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAGUUUUUUUULLLLLLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt El-Abd will be available without any real match fitness by Saturday and I am not sure our problems are defensive, particularly at home. I agree Coventry are one of the poorer sides in the Championship and that if others are fit to return three points should be there for the taking.

Cov are on a poor run but speaking to some of their fans yesterday they played very well against Wet Spam on Sat and were unlucky not to get a point. They like to keep the ball on the deck but lack a cutting edge up front. Sound familiar?!

Cannot wait for this game though as for financial and work reasons this will be my first game at the Amex...:amex:

Actually dont like the awful run they are on , i always think it has to end sometime. I expect Cov fans will be looking to this game to get back to winning ways as well.

I see they are playing on Tue night so this may also help us.

You still have to fancy us to win this though.

Back above Palace again possibly ?

Perhaps that nice Mr Walton could be referee.

He owes us.

Or perhaps he'll be doing the Chipping Sodbury Sunday League ?

I expect Coventry are feeling just the same way as us, feeling if they don't beat us or t least get a draw, they will struggle for the rest of the season.

Coventry City 2011-2012 Home - statto.com

Feeling is different from reality. But there are no easy three points in this division. Doncaster are about the easiest. Coventry seem to be a counter-attacking 4-4-2 team. I think we will try and work an opening instead of pumping it into channels. They will press to try and make us play long, as usual. I expect they are more vulnerable to a hoof into the channels, so I would be pleased with a 2-1 win for the Albion, better than Leeds and Middlesbrough achieved this season.

Saturday is essentially the exact same situation as the last home game vs Barnsley. We're coming off the back of another poor performance and desperately need a confidence boost. I just hope luck is on our side again because for me that was the deciding factor vs Barnsley.

It's an old cliche but in this division it really is the case that there are no easy games.

Fattest manager in the league: at least it should have comedy potential.

Subs: Casper, Paints, Spaz, KLL, Hoskins.
I think I would like to see this, if all fit.

Another huge match, almost as important as the Barnsley game. These are ones we have to target for points.

It's still only one win in 11. But beat Coventry and it's also 6 points out of 9, which we'd have taken before Barnsley.

I'd leave Noone out of the line up above, & give Lua Lua a shot.

Just far enough away from LDC
This league seems to get more like the Premier league in that it is made up of 3 strata.

1) those pushing for premiership (maybe realistically 6 or 7 teams)

2) those with a bit of luck could get in the play offs or with a bad run may being fear of relegation but realistically are going to be mid table

3) Relagation fodder who may shock and be safe by march

I hope we're in the second category and to be there we need to beat Coventry as we did Barnsley and Doncaster.
