The Save From CMS's header

WSU, just below the seagull.
Have seen a few comments on here how good it was etc etc.

But, was it really that good? From where i was sat in WSU, my initial thought was that he didn't have to move that much to make it, was it the fact that he sprung like a gazelle and made a clean catch, that made it look better than it was?

I said at the time "one for the cameras"

If it was that hard a save he wouldn`t have hung onto it.

I didn't think it was that great TBH - made a meal of it. Ankergren made a couple of better ones

It was a highly athletic reflex save from close range, he caught it cleanly and never let it slip when he landed. Quite superb save IMHO.

It was the fact he didn't dop it which made it an fantastic save, otherwise CMS would have been sniffing for a rebound.

For me the keeper just flung himself in the air and spread himself, Mackail-Smith just happened to head it straight at him. So to an extent it was a fortunate save, but he did really well to hang on to it.

Six of one half a dozen of the other,,,,Cms should have buried it, that said it was on target and a very quick instinctive save and even more impressive that he held onto it from such close range. At least Cms didn't head it over or wide, made the keeper work.

Very good save, but had it been Barnes who had the header rather than CMS there'd be a lynch mob on here.

Probably because CMS acually contributed something to the game.

Ridiculous comment. Barnes' first touch yesterday was poor but HE'S BEING PLAYED OUT WIDE. That's probably why he isn't in the box scoring. And when he does, and scores, or takes a penalty, and scores, or links up brilliantly with CMS, who scores, he STILL gets crucified. Unbelievable.

Does this make sense to anybody?

Yes. I think questions means the header wasn't a particularly fast paced one that was difficult to deal with, based on the fact the keeper held on. If it had any power to it, the keeper wouldn't have managed to hold it.

I think it had the sort of power that would normally trouble the keeper and the fact he solidly caught it is what made it a good save, that and the reactions shown in getting his hands there to catch it.

From immediately behind the Hull goal, it looked superb. CMS seemed to be almost on top of Basso when he made the header. Basso had no time to catch it, but caught it. Brilliant!

I guess I might think differently if I saw it from a different angle. And I've not seen a TV replay.

I was right in line with it and CMS did head it almost straight at him, but Basso deserves credit for catching rather than just parrying it.
