Of the 17 albums you mention, these are the only ones I've listened to, and I wouldn't disagree with you in that I agree they are all pretty good.

But the fact is, I haven't heard of 8 of your 17 albums, and I'm sure there are dozens of other candidates I haven't heard either. And that's the problem with these polls isn't it? We can all agree that these lists are very subjective but even then how is anyone supposed to form a proper list if they haven't heard some of the many albums that might deserve to be on it?

FWIW, my favourite on your list is "Is This It?" by The Strokes which is excellent. Oh and my top 15 would certainly have to include Capture/Release by The Rakes.

I have only heard of 6 of those bands let alone the actual albums. Old fellow alert.

Seems like a pretty good list, we may have similar tastes, I will check out a few of those.

I will give it a shot (my music listening has taken a huge crash in the last 7 years)

Good post.

Off the top of my head, I'm going to go with this 15 (though I'm sure that later on I'd think of another five that I've missed out on that should have made the cut):

1. Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
2. Soulwax - Nite Versions
3. Arcade Fire - Funeral
4. Sigur Ros - ()
5. The Strokes - This Is It
6. Caribou - Swim
7. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
8. The Walkmen - You & Me
9. Elliott Smith - Figure 8
10. Radiohead - In Rainbows
11. The National - High Violet
12. Super Furry Animals - Radiator
13. M83 - Before The Dawn Hears Us
14. Mogwai - Happy Songs For Happy People

Blimey, I'm older than I realised.

When did THAT happen?

As controversial as this may be, I thought the first Keane album Hopes and Fears was very good. Would also give the nod to In Rainbows by Radiohead and Teen Dreem by Beach House.

No doubt that that album is the best over the past 15 years. IMO

Quality list I was hoping to get a few of them in. The latest albums by beach house, grizzly bear and caribou are superb. If the
poll was the last five years they would be right at the top. Mogwai and The super furries are also amongst my favourite artists.
