This question was asked recently on 'Ask the Club' and the reply was something like:

"........ mounted police, razor wire, water cannon and barricades, plus visiting fans will be held back for 3 hours until the north stand post match drinkers have all left the building............."

Are you genuinely worried about mixing with away fans ?

Treat fans as adults and they will behave like adults , misbehaving numpties are in the minority and will be sorted out swiftly by OB.

Totally agree. Initially with all that Taylor report stiff, I was not convinced. They suggested years ago that treating fans like animals meant they behaved like it. I was totally wrong. Clearly the whole all seater stadiums and nice grounds etc has enouraged a far more friendly atmosphere without the need for barbed wire

time for a rethink?

As I had to wait for a mate I stood outside the ground for 45 mins pre-match. Saw a few punches thrown but no mass disorder and the police were in quickly. Post-match, aside from rows of police and some fans mouthing off, didn't encounter any problems either. Not like the bad old days of running battles in Hove Park. Even with the Palace fans taunting, the vast majority of people just shrugged it off. Hopefully the rest will be sorted out by CCTV and won't be around again. The basic principle is still right - having lived through the era where fans were treated like animals, we don't want to go back to that approach.
