WHY is the atmosphere so good?

Funny question perhaps, but I'm now pretty sure that the atmosphere at the Amex is better than at any other ground I've been to, in terms of consistency and volume. Is this purely down to the architecture? Is it the fans? Will it continue? What did it sound like on tv last night?

I know it beggars belief, considering the amount of people moaning on here about the songs that we sing ! I'm surprised we've got any atmosphere at all !

How would i know?I'm pissed.
The design of thre stadium is all about keeping the noise in, and it works well.
The roof panels could've been much cheaper but they used the ones we have because of their acoustic qualities, remember that we will be having a couple of concerts each year and to attract top artists the acoustics have to be good.

The atmosphere is due to stadium design and having around 200% more fans than at Withdean - simples

Just the enthusiasm built up after so many years without a ground. I for one treat the Amex as way more of an away-day style day out than I ever did at Withdean (or the Goldstone as a kid), and would imagine more than most fans up and down the country when they go to a home match.

i guess my point really is why is the atmosphere so shit at other grounds of a similar (or bigger) size? You can hear an ant fart at the County Ground.

Edit: I mean City Ground. I'm not trying to compare us to Swindon.

Liverpool and Leeds away fans have been excellent for improving the atmosphere.

In the North, there are more people singing and standing for longer periods with each game. If this continues and we add another 8,000 at the end of the season it is going to be immense.

Can't wait for Tuesday. The chance to take on Palace in a superb new stadium with a brilliant manager, chairman, team, acoustics, pies, seats, beer has been a long time coming.
