Yes we are very lucky and the LOANS are interest free but he will want his money back in either dribs and drabs or in shares of the club.....he has not gave away £100 million. He has however given the club the chance to make a profit and compete at a higher level of football than playing at Withdean could offer. He is already a Brighton Legend IMHO.

I believe the loans are convertible, but shares in the Albion are effectively worthless, we have not made a profit for 35 years.

So TB is a fan of the club and gambling that the success of the club may give him the chance to recoup some of his outlay? what a man!

He is indeed a top man, but will never recoup the money. The numbers simply don't add up, 15 clubs in the Prem and 20 in the Championship lost money last season, football is a mugs game. The Glazers might make money from United, but only if they have a TV deal that gives them exclusive rights.

And i think United are still in debt, aren't they? Its just they are paying the minimum on the loans/debt.

didnt I read that Bloom wants his money back over a 30 year period interest free?

This. He put the money into the club with the intention of getting it back, without profit. Of course if the money is converted to shares and his dream of Albion getting into Europe if fulfilled, then he might earn a pretty penny.

United are still £700m in debt, although they are rumoured to be going for a listing in Singapore to reduce some of that.

Largely irrelevant though. The value of a club is very much based on future projections which will be much better than historic results due to the new stadium, promotion and prospective promotion to the Premier league. However, the return for £100m is likely to be pretty negligible. Only Man U and a few other clubs make much profit out of football. However, if he continues to build on it the club could easily be worth at least what he has put in given that a lot of the money he has invested has gone into the stadium rather than player wages etc.

I do sometimes wonder where his money was during the Withdean years. I am not criticising him here and I know he did contribute in the past but nowhere near the extent he has now. I guess the club only had some value in it once they got the go ahead at Falmer, can't begrudge him only investing once there was value in the club.

He put £16 million in to keep the club afloat when we were at withdean.
