I think it's a good idea but would suggest that approvals or disapprovals are not open to see, otherwise won't disapprovals just lead to to tit for tat disapproving? and then worldwide armegeddon?

Will this discourage posters from starting good threads in the fear that they will be knocked back for doing so?

Some do get good info that they would normally share with us but then get crucified if the info goes tits up and therefore may not bother in the future! I wouldn't want posters scared off from this board just because the clique don't always agree with them... I don't mind change or improvements but this could turn out to be a tad detrimental to the site in the future!

Everyone starts with 10 points
Administrator's 'power' is the same as any other user (i.e. I've not set it so I can give people +/- 10,000 if I want)
For every 365 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 1000 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
A user must make 100 posts before his reputation hits count on others?
A user have a reputation of at least 10 before his reputation hits count on others?
Each user can give 10 reputation clicks over each 24 hour period?
You must give reputation to at least 20 different before you can hit the same person again.

(I like the one in bold as it means those who have been disapproved a lot are not able to negatively affect others)

can we lower that? Seems a bit high, especially when people KEEP linking us to players featured on transfer rumours, they deserve negging for that

2. Your reputation 'power'. This is how much influence you currently have. Mine is currently 26. So, if I 'approve' your post, your score goes up by 26 and if I disapprove it goes down by 26.

At a guess, my 26 is made up from...

8 points - 8 years NSC membership
15 points - 15,000 posts made
2 points - having a score of 221

Could the extra point be from 9 years of membership, including 2003 and 2011? Not sure how the timelines work.
