Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
The previous landlord of the Swan wasn't overly impressed with the Albion coming to Falmer. However, he has sadly passed away, and a new very pro-Albion family have taken over.
I have been asked to officially invite all fans on the Swan's behalf, to the now Seagull friendly pub.
This Saturday, it will be open from 11.00am.
Barbecue and outside bar.
Plenty of outside seating and marquee.
5 real ales, european draught beers, Murphys and all the usual.

Please post anything you would like to see, on this thread, to suggest anything that could come to fruition, in order to make your pre/post match Swan experience even better.
Sensible suggestions only please (some hope)!!

All very well the new landlord being Albion friendly. What about the local NIMBYs - will they boycott the Swann for the 13 out of every 14 days the Albion are not playing at home if Albion fans are allowed to use the pub? No pub can survive without its locals, even if it does have a bumper day once a fortnight.

I would be interested in having a drink at The Swann on matchdays though, if as a patron I can park in The Swann's car park, or park free of charge on the road by the village pond.

To be brutal The Swan didn't have much choice but to come out and say it's 'Albion friendly' did it?

"Don't eat at the Amex - we''ll have some of your money". Looks like a case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". I heard it was the same family running the pub.

I remember the previous landlord hated football so much that he put out bowls of Brazil nuts on the day Brazil beat England in the world cup. What a twat.

Thanks for info though Jack

Are they going to start selling Harveys again? I won't be going there otherwise!

...and will it be less than the £3.24 in the stadium?!

I spoke to the guy there when I went for my presentation, I met my brother there for a pint. The previous landlord passed away and left everything to this lad and his mum who were working and living there. They were terrified they would be homeless and then got that news! APPARENTLY the guy was coming round to the idea of opening up for Albion fans shortly before he died! As I said on a post yesterday, I really really hope they are prepared for what is about to happen to them, hundreds of fans all wanting a drink ay the same time, not a few locals wanting a quiet drink and some nuts

Why would you go to The Swann when There is The Hikers rest. Proper family pub

Because its closer ?
Is the hikers a family pub now ?
The last time i went there you were made to feel very unwelcome by the locals as if you were invading their private space.
It certainly wasn't somewhere you would take your family.
