Most memorable gig you went to?

As with the first and last what was your most memorable gig you went to?

Mine:-

UK Subs with the Passions in 1980/1 at Crawley Tech - gig only lasted 45 mins total, with skinheads gobbing off Passions after 2 songs and UK Subs 3 songs near riot!

The Buzzcocks riot at the Top Rank suite was quite memorable.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse at The Joint in Las Vegas...my ears rang for at least 3 days

Se my other post on 'LAST GIG'. Not too shamed to admit it, being a soulboy, but - Take That Progress Tour 12 days ago. Amazing. Amazing. You cannot fail to be impressed.

first one (The Cure promoting Faith at Chelmsford Odeon), New Order at Royal Festivbal Hall during the miners strike on the 4th anniversary of Ian Curtis' death, they encored with Decades and this grown man shed tears, and Neil Young & Crazyhorse doing the whole Greendale extravaganza at The Sidney Myer Music Bowl in melbourne - probably the only time I'll ever fly across a continent for a gig (although if I'd been one of the lucky few to get through on the Cure Sydney Opera House Vivid ticket site I'd have flown over for that a few weeks ago for sure.
So many more to mention, such a hard question when music forms such a major part of your life......

David Bowie at the Worthing Assembly Hall, May 1972.....50p to get in, about 200 turned up. Four weeks later, Ziggy was released, and a superstar was born. September 1972, he sold out the New York Carnegie Hall....talk about a meteoric rise !

Queen at Wembley & Knebworth......seen most groups including Beatles, Stones etc from the early 60's but these two were it. We lived at Codicote [next village to Knebworth] and exercised our rights to walk the footpath through the estate, a friend was on security & let us in and we ended up 3 rows from the front stage for Status Quo & then Queen. Magic!!!!!

Memorable because it was brilliant - two of those, hard to separate them: Jam @ Guildford Civic Hall 1981 and The Specials @ The Centre last year [my Mum wouldn't let me go the first time round and I think they only played The Suite, so I couldn't get in anyway]

Memorable because it was an 'event' - Genesis @ MK Bowl 1982[?] - Peter Gabriel needed to raise money for WOMAD so his old mates helped him out and it absolutely HOOFED it down all day. 'Supper's Ready' was good though.

Memorable because it was sh*t - Kid Creole @ The Centre. Late coming on, played an hour, and seemed very uninterested.

Paul Simon and his support, after the Adelaide F1 GP in 1991.

The race had been cut after about 12 laps, I think still the shortest GP ever.

The crowd were in a foul mood and the rain kept tipping down. Despite the obvious dangers of electrocution Simon and the band literally got everyone "Dancing on the Tip of their Shoes", a fantastic performance in the circumstances.

Whenever I hear that trumpet blast "Dah, da-da-da, dah, da-da DAA!" I'm back there...

I can never decide which...

Either Queen @ Knebworth in '86 or Pink Floyd @ Earls Court on the Divsion Bell tour in '94

I think Floyd just shade it by virtue of playing DSOTM from start to finish in the second half - even had the aeroplane across the arena

reading this is one of the few time's I've ever wanted to be older

for the record I'm 40 and as for best gigs my podium is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on Hastings Pier 2004(?), American Music Club Dutchess of York, Leeds 1989 ish and Red House Painters - again Leeds late 80s

re the Dame: Bowie doing "Look Back In Anger" on rollerskates at the Dominion Theatre for an ICA fund raiser was pretty good - certainly better than the Glass Spider tour
