Obviously for many its a trip to the loo, grab a bite to eat or drink or a flick through the match day program. And of course we can admire Gullys girls.

I would like to see some form of penalty shoot out perhaps along the lines of the Take It LIke a Fan show. How it would work is that when you get your season ticket you get the chance to opt in for being randomly selected. By needing to opt in this would weed out anyone too old, perhaps physically not fit enough or just too plain embarrassed to get up and take a pen in front of a full house. Perhaps a few mins before half time the big screen could run some random number generator which would eventually show your seat number. You then get to take a pen perhaps a youth team keeper to win a cash prize.

Just a thought and admittedly perhaps tricky to coordinate. Any other ideas for something to involve the crowd?

I liked the game between 2 young sides at Notts County. Could we not do thios with the primary schools of Sussex putting out teams against each other ideally 1 from West Sussex vs 1 from East Sussex each week.

Not sure about half time entertainment, but could they perhaps make an effort to include local indie bands songs in the pre-match playlist?

Why on earth would you want to do that? I don't mind indie music that's popular, unheard of guitar music not well known for a reason.

Please god no, that would empty the stands till 30 seconds to go, you'd never get a drink at the bar, and you'd be later than the 1901s getting to your seat.

A quick pint and watch the scores on the telly. I'm sure they'll put something for the kids to watch though.

Personally I find announcers on the pitch are usually quite cringey.

I don't mean entirely, I mean one or two songs, a featured spot each match for a local band, which I would have thought is in keeping with the club's community spirit.

Ron Pavey to give Seagulls Lottery results,

following by 22,500 raucous cheers on hearing Palace are losing 4-0 at the Boleyn Ground, with their new striker red-carded for elbowing.

Yep not a bad idea. That game at Notts County was fun. No doubt a thrill for the kids and the crowd got involved.

Thanks Greens :(
Does there have to be h/t entertainment? We have to concentrate on the footie for two halves of 50 minutes, so I'd prefer just some music, and the h/t's from other games on the screens. Oh, and deffo no wheeling out of some ex-player or local sports notable, at the drop of a hat...

Or buckets being shoved in fans faces to amateurishly raise chicken-feed for the Cause of the Week.

Could we also have local punk, grindcore, thrash, heavy metal and male/boy bands too? No, hardly, because are all minority genres which will be unpopular with the majority. Now, if it was x-factor/bgt type acts, you'd have something that more would be interested in. Do we have a Brighton SuBo?

(BTW I would be in the hardcore punk rock/thrash metal camp)

Agree that non really is needed - perhaps a gaurd of honour for the construction team?

This. Not sure how much it will bugger up the pristine turf but the kiddies game was arguably more interesting than the 90 full minutes the seniors played that day!

When I say indie, I mean as in independent or unsigned, not as in the genre. I would think a variety of genres would be fine over the course of the season, a little something for everyone. 22.5K people will all have a varied taste in music, and most will like a range of music genres. No music played will be liked by everyone. I'd wager most weeks at withdean the music wasn't liked by the majority. But most suffered through it because it wasn't a major component of the match day.

It would be only one song, three minutes, out of what could end up, with the stadium we have, being upwards of 3 hours of pre-match activities.

One song to showcase local talent, introduce the song, play it, "if you like that you can catch more of this when [local band] perform at [their upcomig gig]", back to the rest of the playlist/pre-match entertainment. It supports the local community, supports the arts, might unearth some music the fans like, gives us something different each week, and if the song isn't great it's only a couple of minutes out of 180 of them.

Of course, the club/match day entertainment organiser, can (should) screen the music, make sure it isn't awful. I'm not suggesting just putting songs on that may be generally awful without any checking they have some appeal.

I will be at the bar, without meaning to sound rude, I couln't give two shits about what was happening on the pitch at half time (maybe we could get Micheal Owen to do star jumps?)

Mr Bloom is apparently spending a lot of money on some nice tv screens. Perhaps we should concerntrate on making good use of those. As for penalty shoot-out for a lucky fan, please go to the top of the Naff Idea Class.
