True, but equally Gus's comment "They are offering plenty of money and we cannot compete with that, so it's difficult." also suggests that we couldn't match his request.

I wonder if Glenn has given them a verbal agreement but is holding out on actually signing? Dunno, just trying to explain why we can see so many conflicting reports in the press

Given the fact that we have sold more than double the number of season tickets that Palace have I tend to believe that the truth is that Gus just doesn't think Murray is worth what he wants. Only time will tell if he's right or wrong but whilst I know it's a bit different just how much did we miss Forster last season ? I'll be sorry to see Glen go and let's face it had he not been involved with Palace and to a lesser extent SCC nobody would have been that upset. I can't deny that I am not happy at the prospect of him joining Palace but at the end of the day the bloke has to do the best he can for himself.

Daily Mail: Crystal Palace have completed the free transfer capture of striker Glenn Murray, whose 22 goals propelled Brighton to the League One title. Brighton tried desperately to persuade him to sign a new contract and Millwall were also hovering.

No, Brighton don't think he's worth more than £7.5k a week.

That does smack of agent talk - simple fact is we didn't think he was worth what he was asking but Palace did. Who got it right can only be judged at the end of next season and in the future

Sorry to have taken one of your star players. Football its a pretty cut throat business like that, am sure you'll be fine without him.
If he turns good with us we know already he wont be loyal to us either! Anyway Good luck next season guys and look fwd to our matchdays with you.

Am I the only one not really overly bothered by this, he really is NOT that good and will struggle to get a double figure goal tally next season in a team that lacks as much creativity as ours did this season, after all, Bennett was behind most of his goals, do Crystal Pikeys have a Bennett?...

Anyhow, he's still a prick, so f*** OFF and bench warm Glenda, enjoy your abuse next season.

I know pikeys don't go to school much, but at least make an effort to get a basic grasp of the english language.

I doubt very much it is just the £2.5k a week difference in salary. There is bound to be a signing on fee. If they paid him £200k that is still considerably cheaper than having to pay a transfer fee for him.

I'd rather he went to Palace than Saints or Millwall. Its more fun that way

Well, the chorus of 'One Greedy Bastard' would be loud next season, that's for sure. I don't think he'd enjoy his first game at Falmer if it was in Palace colours.

Agent Glenda to send Palace down next season, methinks. Will bankrupt them with his ridiculous (alleged) wage and fire blanks all season. Marvellous scenes
