I went today and Derbyshere were piss poor. The guy that scored 80 odd was ok but the rest was awful. Also, as their keeper was captain it took ages between overs because he had to talk to the bowler before the start of the over. Still a good day though. :)

On the way home now.

Good game, Sussex bowled very well, especially Liddle who bowled an excellent line with some genuine pace. Spinners did well to strangle the acceleration in the middle overs with Yardy doing what Yardy does and taking some key wickets. Some kamikaze batting from Derbyshire though and was quite surprised in the end that they saw off the 40 overs. Best aspect was that none of the overs went for silly amounts of runs.

Pitch looked very green - maybe prepared more with the Somerset game in mind on Wednesday (maybe Marc can confirm or deny this). Seemed to be quite well behaved though.

Sussex batted very well in the face of some buffet bowling, only Jones coming out with any credit. Groenewald especially threw down some pies. Chesney Hughes was the most unorthodox slow bowler I've ever seen and rightly got clouted. It was ironic then that he took the only wickets - more down to poor shot selection though, as it seemed quite clear Nash and Joyce were in a race to get 100's.

Good allround performance though.

Clare was the most wayward bowler though - he delivered three successive wides in one over. I've never seen a professional cricketer do that.

Sussex looked top-notch today: bowled, fielded and batted well. A mention for Ollie Rayner, he didn't pick up any wickets but looked very tidy

I was at Lords when Scott Boswell bowled 5 wides in a row, 8 in one 14 ball over. There was talk of England before that performance. I don't think he ever played again.

Yes. I was going to mention that but didn't know who it was, so omitted it in the hope someone would fill in the blanks - cheers for obliging!

Good point about Rayner too.
