I am having an argument with some CHUMS over what they finally offered. I've heard just short of £1m, £1.2m and £1.8m. Anyone actually KNOW? ???

I think Elliot said no offer was excepted so no money was ever discussed, so probbaly Tony Bloom is the only one who really knows.

If we have to sell him, due to premership clubs wanting him, I would want 5-7 million for him at the current rates and ability for Gus to rebuild the team without him, I would also want it to happen sooner rather than later.

But I hope Tony can keep him and pay him what he is worth to our team.

I think 1.5 - 2 million will get him.

No way at the moment, a poker playing chairman, and a player with some manners (i.e won't throw a hissy fit) in the middle of his contract plus a very passionate and succes hungry manager.

Double that figure and they may consider it if Elliot really wants out (which I hope he does'nt).

You're having a laugh talking about £5-7m. Elliot has already put in a transfer request following Norwich's interest. Now they are in the prem he's more likely to want out. £1.5-2 Mill is about right for us.

Reliably informed that it was around 1 million. Certainly not any more than that.

I think that was the first offer but there were 3 offers as I understand it and the final offer got to nearer 2 million. No information just what I heard.

He is under contract with a Chairman who does need to sell and a very persuasive manager. Bennett has said he was interested especially if he gets to play in the premership.

We will only then sell to a premership club, £2 million would be too low especially as someone also mentioned a 20% sell on to Wolves.

I still reckon he will be an Albion player unless, he stamps his foot doubled with an over inflated (premership) price.

I think people are overestimating what we could get for him. I'm pretty sure Gus/Tony mentioned that the final bid was close to 1 million and was very tempting, suggesting it never went above 7 figures. He would be worth more now that we're a championship side, but I don't think many clubs will be willing to pay more than 1.5 - 2 million. Personally I think he's worth more than that to US so we should try and keep hold of him.

No way will Elliot stay if any prem club come calling. We would get a good fee ,i guess 1.5 mill ,plus add ons,and good luck to the lad !!!

Depends how much they want him.

Burnley paid Hibs £3m for Steven Fletcher when they were promoted to the Premiership, he only managed 5 league goals in the season, but they sold him for £6.5 million to Wolves a year later after being relegated.

Fletcher's nothing more than a journeyman pro. IF we sell Benno, then the most important thing is a sell-on clause for the Albion.

:lolol: no chance.

I tend to agree, but in light of the hype around Oxo-Chamberlain at Southampton, who the stats suggest is no better than Elliott, I'd say we should certainly hold out for much more.

We're no longed a club living from day to day, hoping to sell a Virgo to pay the wages. We have our own money coming in and a chairman who doesn't have to keep selling. Expect any player whos sold to go for top dollar, the days are gone when a PL club can just walk in and take a BHA player for peanuts.

Imagine trying to negotiate a deal with Tony Bloom on the opposite side of the table. He is going to do some seriously good business for this club over the next (hopefully many) years.
