Anyone just see that, ok a cock up by Gomes but the ball did not cross the line and Chelsea awarded a goal.

Spurs can blame the official all they want but it was very difficult to call and my initial reaction was goal- their problem is that Gomes is a clown.

Thanks Greens :(
Got it on TalkSport and can't believe an ex-pro player summarising, Stan Collymore, is arguing that because the bottom of the ball is over the line, it's a goal. The whole of the ball (one outer extremity having a vertical line drawn down to the pitch) has to be over the whole of the line! Twonk!

How could the lino have possibly givena decision one way or another from his position which at the time was virtually level with the edge of the penalty box. He was running back towards the line when the controversy raged. The 2nd goal was also a disputable one as TV clearly shows that Malouda was offside. As they say these decisions even themselves out over a season.

But Chelsea denied a penalty when Kaboul brought (Kalou?) down.

Tottenham in second half, and before their long-range goal, were toothless. Van der Vaart, Lennon & Huddlestone anonymous.

Don't deserve top 4 place this year. Did last year.
Raising their game against Inter (home) & ACMilan (away) doesn't make a season.

I'm not sold on the idea yet. Not sure how it would work, would the referee have to ask for the "camera referee" to be consulted, or would they always be in the referee's ear.

It would have to be the second, otherwise players would find another opportunity to badger the officials.

I'd wouldn't mind some automatic technology which simply registers where a ball is in the goal, although I'm not sure the technology is really there yet.

Personally, I'd like to see two more linesman before goal line technology is introduced. I know it is used in other sports, but they don't have the flow like football.

I should think Huddlestone was anonymous, seeing as though he wasn't in the squad. Chelsea weren't much better to be fair.

Don't know how the lino is meant to see it. He was doing his job and was in line with the last defender. Just has to call it as he see's it.

That's the thing, he hasn't seen it, otherwise he wouldn't have given it.
