Nail biting stuff. wgat happened to our defence?

Ankergren 8. Not sure he could do much about the goals. Two deflections, apparently, and a penalty. But a couple of world class saves.

Calderon 8. Good game. Got forward well. And another goal!

Elphick 5. Centre of defence was our problem area tonight.

ElAbd 5. See above.

Painter 7. Defending OK. Some decent forays down the wing.

Bennett 8. Great game. Worked hard.

Bridcutt 9. Wonder goal and overall good game.

Dicker 7. Solid.

Noone 6. Some brilliant runs in the first half, but much less impressive in the second. Lost the ball directly leading to their 2nd goal.

Murray 9. Excellent in his attacking role and some great defending. A star!

Woods 5. Very poor game. Carried on where he left off on Saturday.

Subs:
Barnes 8. Looked so much better than Woods and well taken goal.
Sparrow 4. Twice misdirected passes to Daggers players in very dangerous positions. Did nothing positive that I can recall.
Kish 6. Not really on long enough to rate.

Casper - 8 Two great saves...one down low in the first, and the free kick later

Inigo - 7 Solid and capped with goal
Elf 6- Poor guy looked nervous. Didn't do much wrong but his body language was not positive. Come on Tommy....take this chance with both hands and show us the player you can be
El Abd 7 - Generally good other than the penalty. Took one for the team after someone (Dicker I thnk) gave ball away in the middle
Painter - 7 Solid

Noone 6 - tricky but bullied off it and gave ball away for one of the goals
Dicker 6 - uses the ball wonderfully well....but a couple went astray very dangerously
Bridcutt 9- class. Absolute HOWITZER for a goal
Benno 9 Ran them ragged in the 2nd half.

Muzza - 9 Holds it up so well, wins Free kicks and another one in the onionbag
Wood - 8 Useful outlet even when he seems to miscontrol it

Subs -
Barnes 8. Great goal and lively.
Spazz 6 - ok
Radostin - 6

But i would say on a lot of occasions he just had that one touch to many when he should have passed or shot thats what down marked him for me.

Ankergrewn was great, centrebacks both all over the shop, everyone giving it away in tight positions even Bridcutt!!
Murray and Bennett were quality and worked so hard.
Not any kind of disciplined performance like usual, but who cares, we did it.

To quote a once famous tennis player-"You cannot be serious!!!"

I agree I thought Wood was poor again tonight, since going away on International duty he seems to have lost his sharpness and fitness.

However I had a good view of our 2nd goal and reckon Murray's header didn't cross the line and Wood should of got the goal. Not that it matters now.

I dont get why El-abd ratings are so poor? yes he did concede the penalty but dose everyone forget the last ditch tackle he made when it looked like they had a player through on goal? for me it wasn't his best performance but he was alot more involved than Elphick.

His poor header led to the first goal. He was constantly troubled by their forward, sold himself too often, was easily turned, conceded the penalty (making it two of their three goals being his fault). Yes, he made some great blocks and a couple of challenges, but the low marks were deserved.

El-Abd was bloody awful tonight.

wasnt his best ...but still an 8 for me ..... there was point when Dicker ( i think) tried a cross field pass that left their forward 1 on 1 one with tommy who backed off..... Adam ran 30 yards across from a left back position to tackle and punch it forward in one move.........f***ing immense .......

Ankergren - 9 Absolute class! World-class saves and the goals he had little chance with. His timewasting was brilliant, even using the referee booking him for timewasting as an exercise in some more timewasting!

Calderon - 8 Great all round today. Great defending, and got forward a lot with some excellent crosses. His goal was very well taken and it was great to watch. The defenders doubled up on Noone outside the area which gave Calde some room to score. Nice!

Elphick - 7 His heading was nearly always great, with only one I can really remember looping across the pitch which ended up with Dicksy anyway. He was looking quite nervy, but had a pretty decent game.

El-Abd - 7 Did give the ball away for their first goal and gave away their penalty for the third, but he nearly always kept calm with the ball and had a decent effort on goal in the first half. Took one for the team after one of the midfield gave the ball away in midfield.

Painter - 8 I thought he was excellent. He got forward to support, his passing was good, he seemed to deal with Green quite well, but Green is a very decent player. Did get muddled up a bit in the second half when he tried passing out of defence instead of clearing it, but he was good.

Bennett - 9 Brilliant, especially in the second half. He terrorised them and his delivery is top notch. I can't remember exactly, but I think he got two or three assists. Definitely two from both corners and I can't remember if he had the ball before Bridcutt scored!

Dicker - 8 Another great performance from Dicksy. His passing remained cool and he kept possession easily. One or two poor passes in the middle led to some dangerous situations but his tackling was awesome, especially one sliding tackle where he hooked it away and gained possession. Referee seemed to dislike him

Bridcutt - 9 My MOM. Everywhere as usual, passing was brilliant and his goal....WOW, his goal was fantastic. He was just great!

Noone - 7.5 First Half: 9, Second half: 6 - As the ratings show he was excellent in the first half, with some very dangerous runs and efforts. Hit the bar and had a shot tipped over which led to our first goal. Was, in the second half, however, caught in possession which led to their second goal and faded big time.

Murray - 9 He is astonishingly good. Wins every header, very well taken goal and was top in defence as well. No doubt he is championship quality.

Wood - 6 Not the best game again from him, but was okay. Won one or two headers, miscontrolled it a couple of times which led to the defenders becoming confused and Chris would gain possession again

Subs
Barnes - 8 Great to see him back again after his fleeting appearance on Saturday. Some excellent touches and lay offs. He did well for his goal to get in front of his defender from the corner!

Sparrow - 6 Okay, gave the ball away a few times, but linked with Bennett and Calderon particularly well

Kishishev - 7 He was a good influence I thought in the team when he came on. Good clearances, and some good passing out of defence to use up more time and keep the ball! Such a fantastic match!
