That's the whole point in the presentations though, so they can tell you which will be the noisy sections (north stand), the boring sections (east stand), etc. You're saying "well said" to someone who has completely the opposite view to yourself.

How are you going to be able to tell that from some sort of graphic display?

I can see his point, but it does come across as being a little rich kid wanting his own way.

What does annoy me is that people that pay-as-you-go and have been to Withdean for 50/60/70% + of the games are ignored again. They are/have been important fans over the years - paying £24+ for the privilege of watching the team and keeping the money coming in. Back of the queue.

Could you give your reasons for why you think the club has a differing price structure throughout the ground......but in particular in the West Stand (excluding the 1901 Club)...?

Some views are more central, but I would hardly class the other two thirds as "leftovers" or "places no-one else wants to sit."

One of the advantages of a big stadium is that you can offer a variety of prices. The worse seats at falmer will be far better than the best seats at Withers anyway.

Those best priced seats will help to keep the prices down for the rest of us.

The club have already said that there are only 2000 STH's who have held tickets for nine years - deduct a number of 1901 club members and the situation is not nearly so bad as some of you think.

Must have had a high paying paper round to have afforded season tickets that long during his short life!

They're building us probably the best and most state-of-the-art modern and innovative stadium outside of the Premier League, they're providing padded seats for every fan along with masses of legroom, they're keeping prices down to a reasonable level, they've given a 12 month interest-free option to everyone to help with costs, they've given priority to loyal STH's giving them the opportunity to sit with friends and family, they've organised face-to-face presentations to everyone who wants one where all questions will be answered.

The fuckers.

Thanks for the reply Lush...appreciated.

Could we agree then, that prices differ on the whole (1901 Club excepted, due to extra facilities that are included) because some areas are perceived as better viewing areas than others....?

This 'principle' having been established is all important part.

The club has intimated so many times, that they will reward long-standing STH's with first choice on seating preferences.

To many of the long-standing STH's, this IS important and to quote Easy 10...." I will be making the most important decision of my LIFE that afternoon"...a slight exaggeration I'm sure, but it does indicate that choice IS important to many of us..

That Ken Brown has allowed Long-standing STH's to purchase ann additional +3 tickets at that time has the potential to restrict the choice of viewing areas, considerably, to those way down the list of Presentation dates.

Ken Browns quote of.."To be honest, I'm usually the biggest sceptic on the Board. But with the way our 1901 club has been selling,......I'm very hopeful we will sell out of season tickets". This indicates to me, that he under-estimated the pent up demand for a decent stadium in a huge catchment area, with no other league clubs within a large radius of Brighton. I also noted there were no quotes attributable to him in that article about the process of rewarding long-standing STH's (alone) with first choice, as has been said so many times in the past by the Board. Maybe, a change in attitude now from the Board...??

I have no idea how many long-standing STH's will take up the full +3 allowance, but as I have put on this forum on another post, it could 'potentially' mean that 13,000 seats are UNAVAILABLE for me to choose from by the time my 'Priority 1' presentation comes around. According to 'Insider' the Board 'thought long and hard' over this issue. I'm sure they did. But it occurs to me that commercial interests, and commercial interests alone, were the way they looked at it.

The football business is fairly unique and needs criteria other than maximising income, at the expense of looking after existing customers to be successful. As Tom Hark, Preston Park put so much more succinctly than I can....." the club need to be very careful who they treat fairly on the way up, because they,ll meet the same people on the way down. And people have long memories, even the ones the club takes utterly for granted".

I have yet to receive my letter from the Club, by the way , despite receiving a lot of post yesterday. I wonder how many supporters (not everyone of them reads NSC) are as yet, blissfully unaware of what lies ahead...?

What a great rant. Bitching like a five year old because he only has somewhere between 11-15,000 seats to choose from, and this apparently means he has been 'shafted' by the club. Bringing up the defeat to Walsall too, what the f*** does this have to do with a ST policy which allows fathers to bring their kids to the club and sit next to them.

I thought the whining about the FCUM allocation and how they were all Viking hordes about to rape and pillage Sussex was a particular high watermark in moaning for the sake of it, but it has been surpassed with this latest pathetic moaning, that makes a wailing child who has had his Xbox taken away on Christmas Morning look like someone with the patience and wisdom of Solomon.

Small time club, small time fans.

Unfortunately, I am starting to agree with this, This season it has all been about complaining about anything & everything, even moaning about postponing the game yesterday.
This season ticket lark puts me in mind of a toddler throwing itself to the floor in the sweet aisle wailing "But What about ME?"

I am however thinking of writing to Martin Perry pointing out that I saw the 5-1 defeat to Pompey in 1985

It would happen with every club in the country on every clubs message board in the country if they were in the same situation. It's a handful of people out of thousands that read this board so don't slag off the club and fans, fishing or not, at any given opportunity. Some will just sit back and not moan as nothing will change.

If only they hadn't blown all that good stuff by allowing large numbers of JCLs to queue jump.

Many thanks to all who have contributed on this thread....different points of view....and at times a sensible debate.

Special mention of thanks to the court jester from Manchester..........as so often.....pointless and inane.....but has provided moments of light relief.

club hasn't blown all the good stuff but STH +3 has tarnished an almost perfect launch.

From STH I've spoken to around 70% (sample of 10/don't view NSC!) haven't received their letters so there could be more direct complaints to the club when they find out their viewing date.
