Just heard a rumour folks that Ryan Jennings, a 17 year old left winger from Tranmere will be joining us on loan next week with a view to our buying him in Jan. Given his potential, I'm not sure I believe this but I thought I'd add his name to the pot anyway.

That would be a good signing, considering he has had interest from multiple Championship clubs, but I thought Tranmere said they would want to, if sold, keep him on loan for the rest of the season.

Dale Jennings is a fantastic young talent in the same boat as Chamberlian at SCC, I doubt he'd leave his hometown club to join a team in the same division. Where did you hear the rumour?

From a Tranny fan who I work with but it may, of course, just have been be a wind-up. Jennings would certainly fall into the "very special" category referred to by Gus.

I really can't see him coming to us. He is already making a big name for himself and there must be a fair few championship and premiership clubs sniffing around. At his age, if he were to leave, it doesn't seem to make sense that he would go to a club in the same league. However, hopefully I'll be made to eat my words...

Unless it is Ryan Giggs as quoted on the phone in I will be disappointed.

Someone mentioned on here we'd scouted him recently but i can't see Tranmere parting with him unless we threw wads & wads of money at them given he's been chased by a number of prem clubs.

None of your buisness
I also have heard this rumour, wasn't it mentioned on the tranmere forum?

My work mate thinks he's already worth £2-3M. The tranny fans call him twinkle toes. Nimble, quick and direct.

If it is a choice of Tranmere or Brighton then not a hard one to pick.........

why would they let their best player out on loan for nothing to a team in the same division? ain't gonna happen.

Perhaps because we've already agreed a sizeable purchase price in January and Tranmere need the money?

Could do I suppose, but I just don't see how a team fighting relegation would let their best player go out on loan to a team in the same division. Its like last season where we were, and us letting Bennett go to leeds, just can't see it happening. Would love him to sign though.

Jennings would be incredible but I think slightly out of price range. The only possible reason would be that Tony Bloom has decided to really go for it and spend big to get promotion.

Ryan Jennings has huge potential but apart from the fact that Tranmere will be looking for several millions for him is it fair to heap the sort of pressure that any expensive signing would be under on a 17 year old ?

It's a very nice thought but not too likely, let's face it we don't have the strength in depth of a Premier club or even a lot of Championship clubs and he'd be expected to play week in, week out which is harsh on a player that young.

Also, the slight concern is if you spend that much money on one player, then he will be targetted the same as LuaLua was at Hartlepool making him an injury risk.

I was thinking exactly this today... With us at the top and Falmer next year, I wonder whether Bloom has decided to go for it to make sure we stay in the top 2.

Still feel this "special third player" is Lua Lua. Gus himself said that we'll only get the third player, who was labelled special, if we get the second, also remember him saying something about it being someone close to the club. I wouldnt be suprised if we get a young lad on loan til the end of January, and Lua Lua on a long term deal.
