In the short time he was on the pitch Elphick managed to pick up his fifth yellow, so is suspended for Tuesday.

I agree with the team but not the reasoning for keeping Ankergren in the side. I think he is by far the best of the 2 keepers.

At the moment without a left winger and with Bennett sort of floating we are playing a very fluid midfield system where all the players exchange roles during the game. Against Southampton I think we need to play a much more rigid 4-4-2 with two wide men ensuring they track back to protect their full backs as otherwise Saints will exploit us down the flanks.

I can see Gus starting with Wood and Barnes. Gus doesn't seem to see Barnes the same way some of our fans do (or perhaps think dropping barnes would do more harm to him long term than playing him does in the short term), and I can see him persevering with the Barnes/Wood partnership. However, I can also see him starting with Murray and Wood to see if they do better as a starting pair than Wood/Barnes. I can also see him starting with Barnes/Murray as they are more familiar with each other.

I prefer Brezovan, and could see Gus bringing him back, however, I don't think he will, nor should he. Casper may not be performing as well as he has, but neither is the rest of the team, and to single out Ankergren is unfair.

I think it's the perfect game to bring back Brez, the one major asset that he has over Casper, is his ability to claim crosses and CATCH them, they are both good shot stoppers but Brez is far more commanding in the air and if he cant raise his level for a game of this importance then when can he?
