That's where I am tomorrow night.

What's the chances of finding a pub
a) with a telly
b) a colour telly
c) wired up to ESPN
d) not showing egg chasing

The best advice I can give is to be somewhere else tomorrow night instead, that way you might have more of a chance finding a telly with ESPN.

Sign up to Sky Mobile on your iphone (other smart-phones are available)? That's where I would watch it if I wasn't going. Okay it's inherently naff watching telly on a tiny iphone but better then nothing. Also might be free trial.

When working last year in North Wales, I had to drive to some big transmitter where I set up an ariel on my car roof and used a laptop that picked up TV signals. That was for itv 4 (cycling) I am not sure if it had the option for a pay ESPN.

I would imagine watching it online is best option, then just finding pubs with ESPN (does ESPN show rugby - if so you may be in luck) and asking nicely/pleading for them to put it on.

If not it seagulls world...

I was in Llandrindod Wells back in June when the world cup was on. Think we stayed in the Metropole Hotel, which was ok but no sky/espn! There are a few pubs in the main high street which had the world cup on. I know that was on BBC/ITV but they had the normal boards up outside saying all live games shown here etc etc so you should be ok. Main problem was no mobile signal (vodafone).

What's the chances of finding a pub?

Virtually nil.

My advise to you would be to travel the extra 25 miles to Brecon where there is a tiny semblance of civilisation with several pubs & decent beer.

The museum in the army barracks is well worth a visit. It has a fascinating display of artifacts from Rorke's Drift amongst other things.

There's also some decent females to cast your eyes over - something that is very hard to find in Llandrindod (on two legs anyway!)

Couldn't agree more, we were driving through Llandrindod Wells on the evening of the Woking game after watching the rugby in Cardiff. No-one about and nothing looked open at 8pm on a saturday night! Even my wife, who's Welsh, said it's a dump.

PS Sorry, we did see a bus.

You could try up the road in Rhayader, which has a few working style pubs which aren't dominated by the food trade. Alternatively your best bet would be to drive to Aberystwyth, which is only about an hour's drive away.

Do you work for the Welsh tourist board?

This place sounds worse than I imagined. Wish me luck. :nono:

Stop Press: Two bars in L.Wells showing the game.

Outside one is a poster claiming ALL BIG MATCHES SHOWN LIVE
I had to explain how this was indeed a big game and how they can expect the place to be packed :albion2:

Yes very small. And very (un)welcoming.
The classic "all goes quiet" when some stranger walks in. All three of them that is.
Fcuk your egg chasing, Bring on the :albion1:

You could at least ask them if they want to be on the Vox Pop Special 2!

Have you asked the landlord to change the audio option for ESPN when the match is about to start ? If he wont change the welsh language commentary at least ask if he'll put the subtitles on.

Just back from the Charlies bar - and to be fair they did me proud.

Shame the game was such a crock of shit
