brighton, actually
I don't fully understand this one..

and did he actually jump off the roof, near the end? you hear traffic / screams below, but no actual sight of the body splatted all over Picadilly or wherever..

will be interesting to see if/who sir harry is replaced by, when he's in the clink.

We're not American, we don't have to have the storyline rammed down our throats as if we were imbeciles. There were screams, Harry looked over the edge, looked appalled. I think the inference is strong enough.

As for Lucas, he'd been unmasked, and his past misdemeanours had mentally caught up with him, coupled with being blackmailed and pressured by the Chinese, AND with his lover getting shot dead. Also, if you'd spent eight years in a Russian prison...

What makes spooks different from most other serial dramas is there is no fear about killing off main characters, mostly when you don't expect it. I guess the new head agent was revealed in the last episode. Will Harry still be the boss though?

Harry won't go to jail! There is pressure from certain quarters to pension him off,not to jail him....well that is what I understood anyway!
Bring back Ros from the dead ,that is what I say!!

Ros never died though, you saw her walking off in the distance at her funeral ...

I love Spooks its been as good this season as the first, I'm glad the BBc took it upon itself to show last nights episode in HD as well !!!!

That was series 6 I think. This time she did die.

Maybe will Harry get pensioned off and finally marry Ruth thus getting rid of two members of the cast, they are itching to bring in new younger members one suspects but hopefully not, as those two add more realism than more youngster cast members will (knowing how the civil service operates it would be the case to have older heads in charge).
Brilliant series, so much classier than most of the shite the BBC produce.

I think we now know to expect the head of section to be killed off at the end of each series!

I was thinking more of Danny the black guy), Colin (the computer guy), Ben (the ex-reporter) and Jo (the hot one) who were unexpectedly killed start or mid series.

And there was the one who had her head rammed in hot fat in series 1.

For me this series should have been the last, I thought the plot with Lucas was far fetched even for spooks.

Bit of a poor ending really, no splattered body lying star-shaped on the ground or on the roof of a black cab, almost like they run out of ideas.
Harry will survive as he always has so far, some catastrophic national disaster will be averted by the last minute intervention of the Home Secretary giving Harry his job, and his team, back.

More worrying long term is the pace of decline in staff numbers and the rise of Servelan type federation police troopers who just turn up fully kitted out for anything except talking.

How many more 5 officers are going to go rogue or just crack up or die ?.. is there another way out of The Service, maybe a new career doing something completely different ? Even those who "retire" to the Cotswolds pruning their roses end up living with secret files or nuclear bomb shelters under the floorboards

lets have some new ideas please
