I hope it was the same flare-man as last time.
Sorry to piss on peoples' parade (must be because I am just a tad older than the people who think throwing flares and coins is a good idea) but is the person who throws it going to pay the fine that the club get hit with?
stands by to get "flamed" for being a boring old fart etc etc etc
True. Although a little over the top for a 3 year ban. I would have thought that having to watch Ipswich for three years would have been punishment enough.
Seriously though, apart from turning people's jeans orange (orange - who the f*** smuggles in an orange flare?) he was hammered because he was caught out on multiple offences - possession of a prohibited item, throwing items onto the playing area and surround, endangerment, etc, etc.
Flares are not clever but the twat who threw the coin is an even bigger cock - is it worth someone showing how big and clever they think they are if it costs the club money in fines?
This is going to be our big year - and I remember the day we went up to the old First Division (that's Premier for the young'uns on here). This year has the potential to be bigger and better. We are destroying teams - remember that we were away to the team third in the league and we annihilated them (no matter what Claridge reckons). Looking at our stats we are not just scoring on the break, the games are ours to the point where we must own the match ball based on possession. Things are going our way. The only concern is that we are going to pass Palarse on the way down and not get to the play them for another year.
As long as it's done sensibly and safely it's great IMO
Whoever did it at Peterborough is very likely to get off as their CCTV is not great and as we all know, it's a standing area so seat numbers are not available. Do it in a seated ground and the outcome would be very different! Does being in a standing area encourage people to throw things for some reason, considering this has not happened at other games?
Interestingly I have a pic of the guy who threw it in the act so to speak,..... now, to report or not to report..... hmmmmm
the guy who threw it on the pitch was a hero acting bravely in the public's interest. For all he knew it was an unexploded bomb about to detonate and he bravely pushed people aside, not giving a single thought to his own safety, picked it up and then launched it into a safe area....then Ankergen did the same.
He should be paraded at Withdean next match as an Albion hero.
Coin thrower should be hung, drawn and quartered.
From where I was it seemed that the person who threw the flair onto the pitch was not the person that set it off, seemed the guy went across to the incident, picked it up and lobbed it.
Failed. He should have thrown himself on top of the device as anybody would know that this is the most effective way of neutralising an explosion. .
