Player Ratings

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Ankergren - 8 Looked solid today and came out for crosses
Calderon - 8 He must love the Valley. Played here twice and scored twice
Greer - 8 Solid defender and plays with both feet
El-Abd - 8 Great performance and covered Greer when he lost the ball once
Painter - 8 100% game again today, looks so calm with the ball
Bennett - 8 He was everywhere in midfield setting up moves
Dicker - 9 came back to collect the ball from the back four but went forwards too. His positional sense and ball control is great. MOM for me
Sparrow - 8 worked hard and deserved his goal at the end
Kishishev - 8 His movement and passing was good today and broke up their play
Murray - 8 Worked hard and delighted with his goal which broke Charlton as they were beginning to get into the game
Barnes - 7 Worked hard but nothing happened for him today.

I'd go along with all of those, except maybe a 7 for Greer instead

I thought Greer was absolute class. He won so much in the air against those lumps they had up front, whilst El-Abd almost never did. And also, his on the ground forward passes to those in space spoke of him being a top-flight player. I trusted him too.
El-Abd was bloody good too.

WOW - where do i start! One of the best Albion performances i've ever seen in all my years of supporting the club. Not just the goals either. The all round quality of play was something to behold. I make no apols for high scores, they are all fully deserved.

Ankergren 8 - handling great today, dominated his box and crucial tip over at end of first half.
Calderon 9 - back to his marauding best
Greer 8 - quality through and through
El Abd 8 - brilliant. 100% every single time.
Painter 8 - very solid and got forward well.
Kishishev 9 - his positional sense is amazing.
Dicker 9 - massively industrious and a great team player.
Sparrow 8 - impressive return and goal.
Bennett 8 - ran them ragged in first half. Quality ball for Murray goal. Stayed last to applaud fans. Lets hope we can hold on to him.
Barnes 8 - worked really hard including in defence when needed. Tired towards middle of 2nd half.
Murray 9 - his touch and skill are so rare in a centre forward. Deserved his goal.

Sub: Lua Lua for Barnes 10 - on the pitch for 15 minutes. A superb goal and brilliant assist. What more can you ask from a sub.

Is it jus me or is a certain Mr. Murray fast becoming the complete striker? Goals, assists, awesome in the air, strong, powerful and generally well up for it.

He is awsome.

Totally agree. I would not swap him for any other striker in this division and that includes Lambert. Murray is absolute quality. He does so much more than just score goals. Long gone is the lazy version, he is now the real deal.

El-abd made a couple of goal saving last ditch challenges which deserve an 8 from me, one of the tackles being after Greer lost it on half way and let their player clean through. Good performance still from Greer but a few rusty points which will clearly improve with games

I really noticed this 4 or 5 games into the season, he seems physically much stronger and faster but with a sublime touch to boot. He is indeed, awesome.

Played really well today but if being a little picky 4 league goals in 12 games, for a team that is top is a bit below par.
Thank goodness the goals are being shared around the team. Even better than just relying on the forwards. Will scare the opposition more!

He must have the fewest touches in/around the box of most strikers in this league, he just does incredible work between their box and halfway.
