Does anyone have one as I am thinking of getting one as booking a Virgin Holiday and it advises 10% discount to Virgin Credit Card holders.

Please advise if it would just recognise a Virgin card at point of purchase on-line therefore offer the discount.

Everyone has different experiences of course but i would say avoid like the plague. They're owned by MBNA and if you ever run into any problems forget it as they are a nightmare!

I've had some kind of MBNA card for the last 4 years and never had a problem really ?

I buy stuff, get a statement, I pay it online. Sorted. Also get hammered with interest free promotions all the time, so very handy

Must admit I got rid of my BHAFC MBNA card very recently I used for work due them double debiting my current account and taking 3 months to pay me back all the bank charges.

Think I will go for it though as the 10% discount is worth it.

How are they a 'nightmare'?

I was just pissed because we missed a payment by a literally few hours due to a computer fault and they took away our 0% deal and charged us loads. Now fair enough as far as their small print stated but I chose Virgin stupidly thinking they would have a decent customer servive side but who turned out to be useless. Probably pretty standard I guess but just the way it was done left a very bad taste!

I've got a Virgin Atlantic Amex card which also offers 10% discount on Virgin holidays. You have to call them up to book your holiday and get your 10% discount.

Alternatively you can book it online and I believe you also get a 10% discount.

What I don't think you can do is book it online and get a further 10% discount by paying with your Virgin credit card.

Factor in if you use your credit card to book your holiday, there is a surcharge even if you use a Virgin credit card and it's not such a great offer.

Worth giving them a call to check it out in case my understanding is wrong.
