Surely you can leave whenever you want? If we went 5-0 down inside 20 minutes I'm sure people would walk out, so why is this any different?

Because he was using foul and abusive language during the game! The stewards wouldn't let him leave until they saw his ticket, that way they can impose a ban on him.

He could have left if he had showed them his ticket

Doesn't sound like it needed about 10 police and stewards gathered round this one bloke after the game? :wanker:

I could hear bad language coming from the S.Stand area, and thought it was from the visitor dug-out.
If it was someone in the stands, they were projecting their voice rather well - because I was at the back of the N.Stand at the time.

Exactly! Police should have the powers to force people to co-operate or beat them sensless until they do. that way 1 police officer would have been sufficient.

Thankfully as a citizen he can be as awkward and unhelpful as he likes and all they can do in return is be unhelpful back.

I'm sure ur talking about a different incident. It was right at the end of the game - the stewards were waiting for this bloke and as for min fuss!?!?! You're def not talking about the same incident mate.

The stewards as usual were creating trouble when there was no need for it,they are truely pathetic. The reason so many people were round them at the end was because the guy was being unfairly treated and people were not happy about it. A few of those stewards can expect complaints being made about them within the next few days.

You're spot on. The poor bloke must've been 50 - 60. FOUR stewards were waiting for him and THREE old bill, at the bottom of the D or E block stairs. They confronted him and were really making an example. It continued outside the ground too. The bloke clearly hadn't done too much wrong as there was no arrest or anything made by the looks of it - just an unbelievable steward / police over-reaction. I was pleased that there were a number Albion who were telling the stewards and police where to go - esp as he was about 60 odd - it was a disgrace.

The stewards in E Block were having a twat meeting 5 mins before the end and were waiting for him. They had no need to react like that and single out one bloke. They were a complete joke today - how many times do u see an incident like this in the away end? Rarely. Twats.

Of course, they needed all those police to stop a man who might have sworn leaving the ground, definitely none of them were power crazy pigs wanting to act hard and push some mope around.

And he was 50 - 60...

Yeah, totally over the top. He looked about 70 and he was clearly getting worked up. At his age he could have had a coronary.

Anyone know how the guy in the South Stand who was stretchered out before kick off with an oxygen mask on is?. Didnt look too clever. By the way , to the clown who said "here comes our new striker", you should be ashamed.

I saw the whole incident outside.
The supporter in question from my point of view was very
agitated.
However the incident would have taken a minute to sort had
he cooperated.
I for one did not see any steward react the same way to him
as the way he was shouting at them. Man handled?.
Also the game must have very boring if supporters were busy
watching the stewards and not game.

Another thing.
Why would you risk a ban from the club? by swearing.
To me that is like getting upset because you've been done
for speeding.
The supporter concerned made 2 errors of judgement today.
1 was swearing (Apparentally) and being the only in the
stand that did it!!.

It started in the ground - if u saw it outside u didnt see the whole thing. He had every right to be angry. Also u couldnt really miss the stewards - nothing to do with the game.
