...unless Bloom gets his chequebook out and spends money. Proper money, not just shitty trialists from Luxembourg who have a good first touch.

No wideman.
No no pace.
No much talked about "20 goal a season striker"

But most alarmingly of all today, we showed NO strength in depth.

Our subs bench:

Cook, Baz, Battipiedi, Hart, Holroyd, Walker.

What a shambles of a bench. We never looked like scoring, and had NOTHING on the bench to change things. Two suspensions and we're down to the bare bones. We ordinarily would have played 5 in midfield with Glenn up top away from home against a better team like Sheffield, but we were handicapped into playing Barnes as the only other midfielders are unproven argies plucked from a Ryman's league equivalent who can't even speak the language.

No signings, no hope of play-offs. Simple as that. If we haven't got the signings in in ten days time, then to be honest, there's every chance we'll be battling against relegation rather than promotion.

Pretty football is great, and we're clearly a much more entertaining side now, but it's pointless if we haven't got the squad to back it up.

We were playing Sheffield Wednesday y'know. They showed in the first half just how good they are and they were so much better then us then aswell. Second half was much better but we're deffinately in need of a pacey striker and a decent left winger.

We could have been playing Worthing for all I care - the point remains that your not going to get anywhere in this league with a subs bench of Cook, Baz, Battipiedi, Hart, Holroyd, and Walker.

There's no plan B. As soon as we conceded today, we never looked like getting back into it, and couldn't do anything to change that, as there's no options in the squad.

I have been saying for weeks that our basic first choice XI is good enough but the squad back up isnt. We need 3or 4 players that can offer something coming off of the bench. At the moment we havent got 1.

I thought both South Americans looked good but we do lack depth as there was no option on strikers really.

Whilst i disagree with a number of your opinions i have to say your point about the subs bench is valid.

No one on that bench was ever going to influence todays proceedings and with that in mind i always felt that if we went a goal down then it was game over.

We desperately need a pacy striker and whilst i feel Jamie Smith has come on leaps and bounds he just doesnt seem strong enough. Gets pushed off the ball far too easily so another winger would be nice.

Its interesting you have left Caskey off that list - any reason?

Didn't realise he was on the bench. but it just adds to the point really - a kid who's looked good at schoolboy level, two unproven argies, one utility player who doesn't really offer much offensively, two reserves, and a kid plucked out of non league who is seemingly not up to it.

Agree with some of your points, I thought we created very little today and never looked in control of the game at any point. Calderon is not the player he was last season at all, Kish looked the fittest out of all of them and he is the eldest.

We have, however, never won at Hillsborough according to today's programme so no panic needed yet, early days.

Agreed unfortunately - although I would say there is lot of potential on that bench once they have had more games... (apart from Hart)

And thats not a pop at Hart's ability, more his age!

We know....it has been discussed here so many times.
Just bringing up the same thing time after time isnt going to alter anything..
Gus has said he needs 4 more players....we know that as well.
Dont you think he and Tony B knows that.? Dont you think they are trying hard to get people in ? Of course they are.
Dont you realise we are a league 1 club , and its not that easy getting quality players here?
How many more f***ing times does this need to be said ?
WE ALL KNOW ....GIVE IT A REST

From what I saw of Batti I don't think he will cut it, he was in a some great positions and fecked up a few attacks. Baz however may have a bit more to offer. Also you have to remember with Greer and Sparrow in the side we should be much stronger. Would still like to see a few more signings though.

A few of us were next to TB on the train home, left him a wish list containing Adam Le Fondre, Lee Hendrie, Kazenga and a few others. I'm sure he got the message

Absofuckinglutely. Anyone would think we are on a downward slide instead of in the process of building which is what is going on. Gus & TB are doing things the right way & its not going to be easy so be thankful for what we have going on instead of moaning because things are not happening as quickly as we would all like.
I accept that there is a need for more firepower & strength in depth but we will just have to be patient & support our club rather than what seems to be the prevailing trend of moaning because we are not the finished article. I am still excited & have faith. Rome wasn't built in a day & unless you have the money to throw around let those who are paying make the choices.

I really don't understand why people put their money into football clubs. People are so ungrateful for what Bloom has done. We lose a game of football and suddenly it's Blooms fault for not spending enough. Why do people expect him to give his hard-earnt cash to a football team?

If I was to ever become that rich there's no way I would bother putting money into the club. Way too much undeserved grief
