Its in the grauniad so hardly likley to be accurate, ie

"Experts estimate that around 10 per cent of all Bundesliga professionals are gay."

What experts would this be? Its kinseyesque fiction figures by a trashy broadsheet obsessed with homosexuality.

?Why is football in general so bothered by homosexuality?

Because the only openly gay professional footballer in the UK produced this.

isnt that just applying the gay % from the wider population? dont see it myself, just as some walks of life have a high % of gay workers, some will have fewer or near 0. i reckon football has minimal gay representation, not that it matters.

Er..it's from Der Spiegel originally

The 'Mannschaft' at The World Cup: Ambassadors of a New Germany - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News - International

Der Spiegel is a rather dry, centre right magazine with no reputation for promoting homosexuality but if you want to see homosexual conspiracies everywhere, go ahead.

nice try at a deflection and projection I quoted from the Gaurdian spouting rubbish as usual. I'll repeat it..

"Experts estimate that around 10 per cent of all Bundesliga professionals are gay."

Nowhere in the article does it reference this, the gaurdian made it up. My issue here is crap monomaniacal journalism rather than the topic per see.

Population studies range from 2 to 5% homosexuals, why would it be double this in the Bundesliga?

This is very interesting. Purely for the fact that a friend of a friend passed me some information about 4 months ago about 3 personalities here in Germany who people would be shocked to find out they were gay. One of these is in the German national team. Of course I shall name no names here due to the recent temporary closure of the site - don't want to get the site into hot water. Interesting that there has been a bit of a feud recently between Ballack and (a member of) the squad. Also strange how people still marry to creat a 'normal' image.

For the record: I absolutely couldn't give a flying flip whether a player is gay or not and find it a shame players aren't allowed to be open about this.

There are at least 3 gay footballers in the Premier League who are keeping their sexuality secret because they believe it will ruin their career according to Max Cilfford.

Furthermore, another source of mine tells me that one of them has played for England in the last couple of years. However, as with all NSC rumours, this could well be pure speculation.
