MK Dons Steward 151 and The KFC Stench

Steward 151. Fat bald ****. Blowing kisses and stealing beach balls. Never seen a steward who deserved trouble more than this idiot. His behaviour was pretty much tantamount to incitement. I'm really pissed off about the inflatables. How utterly babyish. What reason? MK Dons and their pathetic boring fans and their ugly boring town can go straight to hell. The ground stinks of KFC and Mc Donalds and it reeks of US style 'entertainment management'.

Oh, and banging crappy chinese fans together for 10 minutes isn't atmosphere you utter utter utter dullards.

Nothing traditional or fun to be had on an away day to the Dons.

Worst club ever.

Top rant, well said. The steward to his left (as you looked down) was a complete twat too. You do wonder where they grow these people. Gotta feel sorry for them really if that's the highlight of their lives.

also these comments are quite amusing:

"Assistant manager Karl Robinson hailed the Dons supporters after they roared the Club's young guns to a hard-earned point against Brighton."

"The Dons faithful rose to their feet during the final 10 minutes of the game to constantly applaud their embattled side"

"Robbo said: "Sometimes I don't think they realise what a driving force they can be here at stadiummk - they're the crux of what this Club is trying to achieve.

"It was tough today and with 10 minutes to go I was just hoping we could hold on, but the fans from nowhere became unbelievable and it gave us a second wind."

Yes, those are comments about the brighton game..

And yet they made no noise at all for the first 80 minutes of the match, maybe they were all intimidated by or hiding, scared of the beachballs, rubber rings and balloons flying around in the away end - hence the reason why the stewards were confiscating them.

Steward 151 in the orange was a twat, smiling and making bring it on gestures to the brighton crowd, who gave him more abuse, and then the steward was escorted away by two senior stewards, not to be seen again, replaced by an old grey haired man whom handled the situation far better.

I hope 151 gets disciplinary treatment, dreadful behaviour.

Oh come on, the banter with the steward was first class yesterday! He was the pantomime villain, and he loved it. We loved having a guy to abuse, he loved being abused. Everyone was a winner, it was hilarious.

Last year I was quizzed on the way in about whether my flag had been 'fire treated' and was told because I had no proof it had been it would need to be placed in a 'sterile area' next to the away fans.

Doesn't rewrite history... but to be fair to the MK Dons fans, I thought they did create a decent atmosphere for the second half, especially for a drab, end-of-season game.

My minor moan was the signage, inside and on the way to the stadium, was virtually non-existent. Not very helpful. And, the PA was ridiculously loud where we were sat. Fair enough two minutes before kick-off to get the crowd going as the team run out, but the full build up was way too loud.

This is really interesting - I am about to start training Event Management Staff (ie stewards) as part of the "Bridging the Gap" incentive. We are working with Colleges and we will eventually end up with 6000 professionally trained new event management staff, all SIA accredited. They will be the stewards who are used for the Olympics, and will be part of a new recruiting drive after the Olympics to give organisations a whole new employee base to work from. This should, hopefully, provide people who are out to take the jobs of the borderline employees that manage to get through the system. It will also make it easier for people, with evidence, to have SIA licences revoked. I still say that if you make a formal complaint to a club about a steward and an incident, then it is the best way ahead. Clubs cannot take the risk of employing stewards who are likely to reflect badly on the club - and may have an effect on the results when people like me turn to carry out A1/V1 verification of the clubs and the employees. One of the first things we will want to see is incident and personnel reports - and if an employee has a handful of complaints that are verified then we will recommend suspension of the SIA licence and further investigation into the recruiting and management procedures of the club.
