Anyone know where I can buy some dry ice in Brighton?

Mr Google can't help and the only online suppliers want you to buy in bulk.

I just need a small amount for a Harry Potter-themed birthday party.

I've made some dry ice before.

Just leave some normal ice out in the sun, come back after 20 minutes, and it'll just about be dry. Perfick, and so cheap and easy to make.

Any other handy hints out there?

Another safe trick is to put dry ice into hot soapy water. The kids will be enchanted at the mountain of bubbles that grows.

A more hazardous trick is to put dry ice in a surgical or washing up glove and tie the end up like a balloon. It will grow to about 18" diameter before exploding.
