I spoke to ticket office Monday about season tickets. I am looking to buy my first one for me and my lad.

He quoted last years prices and said next years wont be released until the end of the month. some prices will stay the same, some will have a minute increase of no more than 1%

Now i have a question.......

As i can get tickets for my two small lads in the family stand for £15 each (season) does anyone think there is a good area in what is a pretty naff choice in T U W blocks.

I have sat in all 3 this season (as well as south stand which would be 1st choice if money was no issue)

Thinking about something 10 rows back in U. Any ideas?

As i've said, i sit in the south stand as my ticket (u21) is reasonable. My old man has 2 season tickets in U block, back row, and to be fair the times i've sat there the view is pretty good. The further back in the stand the better the view, so i'd go more than 10 rows back.

Agreed i think the height especially at the Withdean gives a better view of the action. But if you sit near the edge of the block then Gully may make a fuss of your kids at half-time.

I'd suggest T block, North stand side of the row and about 16/17 rows back

Spoke to the ticket office a few weeks back. They didn't mention price increase, but said there should still be the 5 payment option, although this time round it will probably be by direct debit as they had issues with storing peoples card numbers.

There have been countless threads on this before, I think the club will tap into the feel good factor around the club at the moment and put in a small rise of about 5% so there is not a huge leap in prices when we go to Falmer.

Why on earth should prices go UP when
we move to Falmer?

We already pay some of the highest prices in League One (and the Championship) for by far the worst facilities, justified by the claim that the Withdean overheads are monumental.

We have 22,000 seats to sell for Falmer: prices should be going down then, not up.

Any thread about Withdean seems to turn into a H block bashing.

How about we get back to the topic at hand rather than spouting the same old shit?

Personally I am expecting a prize freeze as usual. With it being last season at Withdean, I'm sure more people will want to come along and say they were there for the last season etc etc.

If the club put ST prices up then clearly they have no understanding of the current economic climate.

If anything prices at Falmer should go down to attract more fans as 6,000 odd will make it a folly.

I am suprised that the club havent factored out the purchase of season tickets and thus get the money in early and the factoring company could then have the tickets paid for by monthly direct debit. No doubt that will happen at Falmer where it will be easier to block non payers bar coded season tickets to refuse entry.

I still think that 140 quid for a Season Ticket in H is f***ing fantastic value. I'd go as far as 185, but any higher and its a strain. I'm hoping for 145/50 mark.

Yeah. I'm all for that. The ability to spread a season ticket over 12 months would help a lot of people. As you say, it would be easier to bar non payers via the 'smart card'

The 5 payment option is crucial. Almost any price within reason can be absord with this being in place.

Be nice for some sort of reward for those that have had a season ticket every year but can't see that happening

my mrs was in the club shop earlier today and enquired at the ticket office about prices for next season, she was told a 20% increase on this season, with 17.5% being because they "forgot" to put the vat on and a 2.5% year on year increase

obviously i have put thread on atc but the thought of paying over £500 for a season of league 1 footy seems rather high!!!

apparently renewal letters are being sent out end of next week, here's hoping they got it wrong in the ticket office!

Not a chance will they increase the prices. If they do we can look forward to a half empty Withdean all season.

I'd like to think they meant 2.5%, being the difference between the VAT last year and this, even the Albion with their history of overcharging us can't possibly justify 20%.

Frankly they can't justify ANY increase but that's another issue.

if they meant 2.5% increase then surely the chap would not have gone into so much detail???

hope you are right and my mrs got it wrong (but i won't tell her that for obvious reasons!!)

so do I. Then again if the shop guy was so good at figures he'd be working as an accountant or a maths teacher, not flogging car stickers and seagull-patterned thongs in the Albion shop.

Sounds like she's got her wires crossed somewhere. You know what these women are like, they get confused easily when they're trying to understand MAN stuff like finances.

Vat was 15% last year. If the club haven't paid the tax bill, that's not the fans fault. Why should we have to pay for their mistake? Which ticket office advice was right?
