Whilst Pardew is tactically sound and a half decent coach I think his problem is his inability to inspire his players. He's got a demeanour that could put to sleep someone who's just caned a gram of base. Add to that his clear delusions of grandeur and a face that even if he was your dad you'd want to slap and you've got all the makings of a prize tit.

I was still buzzing last night in the pub after the game, still fuming at the ref, but ultimately proud of our lot in the face of some pretty serious hostility, but there was one thing I couldn't bring myself to do - read Pardew's comments. I would have had a mental moment.

I've no idea what he said, apart from almost certainly knowing he would be talking out of his arse and shitting out of his face. Don't know if he did, but I don't care now - the bloke's a f***ing spanner.

I still feel like that this morning!

I can't be/ won't be reading what he may have said. His opinion has absolutely no value whatsoever.

Once a Palarse wankker, always a Palarse wankker.

Saints boss Alan Pardew told BBC Solent:

"It was a really tough game. Really competitive.

"They're about the third-best form team in the division, and that showed, but I think we bossed the game.

"Unfortunately we found ourselves behind in a game that I didn't think we deserved to be behind in."

f*** OFF!!!!!!

I can't help thinking this is rivalry that could bubble up nicely in the next 3 or 4 years.

Absolutely, was saying last night at the game that the seeds of a proper rivalry were being sown right there and then.

Genuine hostility between the clubs.
Local derby.
Pardew & Hammond.
We play lovely passing football, they play like Colchester.

I think our games against Saints next year will be MASSIVE.

I really wish I hadn't just read that. I had his 'orrible, smug boat' in my mind then; plus his smarmy voice actually speaking those deluded words. I'm now off to be horrendously sick. :(

I've said it before as have others, how can a club that was so broke it nearly failed manage to pay millions for player(s). I would have thought that certain players there are on a very good wage. It beggars belief that such a huge turnaround can be achieved in less than a year (unless you happen to be one of the old organisations creditors). Frankly with the budget Pardew has he ought to be walking this league. He's a prat.

More complete arse from Pardew:

"I had to pick a side that I thought was going to cope with this terrain and the subs did well when they came on to give us a little boost"

This terrain? WTF? It's not the bloody moon, you moron, it's grass just like you get at most football stadiums, even crap ones.

"We played good opposition today who played with their tails up but I still felt that we bossed the game. Unfortunately we fell behind at a time when I felt that we didn't deserve to be. Obviously we wanted to win, but it was a really tough game. Brighton are playing well at the minute and I thought that it was a competitive game and we bossed it and we got ourselves an equaliser after not the best start.

"The first fifteen minutes were probably the worst part of the game for us but we played well, got an equaliser and bossed the second half. They got an absolute worldy goal out of the top drawer and I don't think that we expected it to be honest perhaps you don't expect it at this level and it undid us.

I get it, Alan, if you say it enough times maybe you'll start to believe it yourself.

And what is a worldy, FFS? That interview is barely even in English.

I think 'worldy' is, as in World class. But I think used in this way means kind of freak, in the fact that yes it was good, but they would never do it again.

So you think he was praising us?
Seems to me He was saying ' We would have won if they didn't score a worldy'
i.e Where the hell did that come from.

I think he was praising the strike as in it was 'out of this world' but made up a completely incorrect and opposite word for it, the numpty.

Which goal was he talking about? I haven't seen either yet.

Maybe he's trying to kid himself that it was a one-off, lucky effort, and not the result of skill or training.

Have heard golfers use the term Worldy. As in ' I will lay up short on this shot, as it would take a worldy to reach the green' i.e the best shot ever.

I presume Bennet's (he took the shot from outside the area as the ball came across him first time and and it swerved into the top corner, amazing strike). The other goal was more about Lua Lua's excellent run and cross, although Barnes took it very well.

Haha I don't think we agree on anything here Joe.
