In light of Chelsea's exit from the champions league and their elderly players not performing to their best, Roman Abramovic has decided to sell up and leave. He has decided not, as expected to invest in AC Milan, but instead to drop down a tier in English football to take over at cash strapped Crystal Palace.
He has already got plans to build a state of the art 50,000 seater stadium with a retractable roof not far from the teams current location at Sellhurst Park. However there is not much that he can do to influence the relegation threatened team staying in this division this season, so he will offer large incentives to players and manager to make sure that this does happen.
Next season: Abramovic wants Palace to go straight up to the premiership, and as champions. His first choice of management for next term is former Chelsea duo Gus Poyet and Dennis Wise, with Wise taken a more behind the scenes role. He will bring in quality players, and will not be afraid of the price tag.
Expect the 2010/11 team to look something like this:
