been supporting albion for over 40 years, content to just read these posts rather than take part till now, never read so much mindless shit about a manager from so called supporters-get off his back and stick to managing park teams.
mid tables where we will finish - springboard for next season and beyond

nice post close to 40 for me as well !

Might as well reply to this I suppose:

1) Poyet's transfer window signings didn't live up to their expectations (in terms of profile/calibre)
2) But it didn't matter, he's got the players already here playing out of their skin (Navarro, Elphick, Bennett)
3) Regardless of their 'names', Calderon and Painter have been FANTASTIC. Inspired signings.
4) Arismendi stemmed all the bouncing of this thread though. He hasn't even been on our bench yet.
5) And Holroyd hasn't inspired so far.
6) Lua Lua though, class act. Good to see Carole come good today though as well.

To summarise: Signings have been good, regardless of 'contacts'. But, jury is still out on Holroyd to be honest. Barnes was at Eastbourne last year, and as for Hendrie, well the last ex-Premiership player we signed from Derby was shithouse, so I don't think this thread warranted a bounce for that.

But as for Brezovan, Lua Lua, Painter and Calderon, I have NO COMPLAINTS.

Still, continue to bounce this thread if you wish, I would rather be proved 'wrong' than pay good money to watch a crap Albion team! :)

Might as well reply to this I suppose:

1) What didyou want? David Beckham? How can a team in the bottom four, be excepted to make high profile/calibre signings?
2) Which is more than the previous two managercould do, and which is why they were sacked.
3) I'd rather inspired signings, that high Savage profile signings.
4) He got injured in training!!! But he has signed!
5) And two some people he never will. He's one for the future, but because of Forsters childish ranting and raving, he got push into the side earlier than was planned.
6) Yes. Yes he is. And Gus signed im ya know. Gus Poyet. The useless contactless manager, who some wally started this thread about.

You hve been proved wrong, and this thread will continue to be bounced all the time Gus is in charge, so hopefully it will be bounced for years, to remind you of your ramblings.

Probably in a few years time you will look back on your first post with shame, if you aren't already:D

And you maintain the best way of getting this across is by posting a picture of a poo? Sorry, this thread will continue to live

I think this thread should be made a joint one. The Complete Badger's assessment of Poyet was even worse than WW's turd analogy.

I just don't get how regular punters think so STRONGLY that they know SO MUCH about the details of playing football, managing a team, training, tactics, day to day running of a football club, ins and outs of transfer dealings etc. etc. It's crazy.

Along with the Arismendi thread with 10 pages of people calling me a twat for daring to suggest that he might turn out a bit shit? :clap2:

He hasn't turned out to be shit. He hasn't had anywhere NEAR enough game-time to prove himself one way or another. Before coming to us he hadn't played a first team game for about a year and then got injured and, as your favourite Navarro proved, players need match-fitness and sharpness before they can be judged.

Anyone judging Arismendi on what we have seen so far is, quite frankly, an idiot. I was not a fan of Navarro when he first arrived and couldn't see what he brought to the team, but my mind has been completely changed by a string of excellent performances that he has produced since Christmas.

I dispair at some people's desire to make their mind up about a player after about two games and then their stubborness in refusing to admit they were wrong, even when proved so (a la TCB - Crofts).

I cringe a little more every time this thread gets bounced:facepalm:

Funny at first, but it's getting a bit old now.

All fine points - but he's proved to be a totally pointless and uneccessary signing - look at the responses I got on the other thread for daring to suggest so.

p.s. If he gets fit and signs next season, he might, just might, turn out to be a decent player. But I don't see the point of forcing him into the team when we've already got Navarro who is in fine form!

Oddly, I agree. He was a pointless signing, good player but not at all what we need. Navarro has that role absolutely covered, there's no need for another holding midfielder. We've plenty of strength in midfield at the moment, and I don't see any need for Arismendi next season.. unless someone is moving on.

I do think Arismendi is a good player, but he's a luxury. Navarro is experienced at this level and exactly what we need.
