But more than any other musician, I'd say for me the bloke with the mostest is Captain Beefheart. Absolutely driven in his pursuit for fame and fortune.

Is that meant to be sarcastic? I'm struggling to think of any musician less interested in fame and fortune. Don't get me wrong; I think that Beefheart is one of the geniuses of rock music - probably the genius of rock music, but anyone who can out an album like Trout Mask Replica has little interest in fame and certainly none in fortune.

Can't argue about much of your other choices (apart from Ian Curtis, someone who seemed definitely uncomfortable with leading a band). Joe Strummer had it in spades though. How about Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello? A totally charismatic showman who puts on a great show.

I'm not sure we're all in agreement as to exactly what Buzzer meant.

Natural ability?
Stage presence?
Drive to succeed?

Well call it notoriety and single-mindedness. Fortune? Estimates at his net wealth are high, very high according to more than one biography - his paintings go for very large sums.

Spot on

This is pointless
