Couldn't really give a rat's arse but would rather it's not Chesterfield. Was reading the thread on their board about Whing's loan signing and came across the genius little snipper that WE were cheats. For the life of me I can't fathom that one out. Unpleasant small minded fans from a hideous town. Briefly at our lowest ebb they were relevant to us but thankfully now they are not and hopefully never again will be.

Now Rotherham on the other hand. Good luck to them. Mounting a promotion challenge while in exile (albeit not that far away from their spiritual home) is a great effort.

Have you seen there new stadium build. Its ghastly. Colchester mark 2. Fuckin shitty cheap new build stadiums do my nut. Thank god we will never join that category.

Think I saw something online briefly. You're talking about Chesterfield right?
I'm still bitter about the trip there in August 1987. It was like Royston Vasey with thugs. Undoubtedly my worst ever awayday and we didn't even lose.
Hated them then and always will.

And the fact they still argue we didnt deserve the div 3 title 2000/2001 because they had 9 points deducted. Yet we finished the year 11 points clear from chesterfield. f***ing silly northerners..aint got a clue.

They were lucky to go up. they cheated and should of been docked more points. Should of lost points of every game Beckett scored in

Burton-on-Trent is one of the best towns in England. Well worth a weekend up there with the friendly people and amazing number of pubs.:drink:

Rotherham - have fond memories of trips to Rotherham
Rochdale - they deserve it after so many years in the bottom flight
Bournemouth - easy to get to and time for us to improve our recent record there
Shrewsbury - a lovely town although the new stadium is not as convenient as Gay Meadow

It's going to look 100 times better than Colchester/Shrewsburys' shit heaps, at least the roof is slightly individual.

I’m not suggesting it will finish this way but I’d like the following teams to come up;

Rochdale. The fans deserve a promotion.
Bournmouth. Decent fan base, also good away day.
Aldershott. Don’t think they’ll make it but they see us as one of their main rivals so would make for an ok atmosphere.

Bradford (via the play offs). Seems highly unlikely but they are a big club who are supported well home and away, too big for the basement.

Want Bournemouth, Rochdale, Accrington and Burton. Rochdale because they deserve to finally get out. Bourne and Accies for showing triumph over adversity and Burton because I love Pesky Peschisolido as a manager.

Rochdale. Because they haven't been promoted since 1827. The fans that have endured their mediocrity, and not been seduced by the Prem clubs up the road, deserve it.

Bournemouth. Easy away trip, that we generally WIN. And because it would be an INCREDIBLE achievement if Eddie Howe gets them up. They have had an embargo all season, and to be where they are with a squad of 16 pros is credit to him.

Burton. Simply beacuse its a new ground.

Rotherham. I just quite like Rotherham, for no particular reason.

Bournemouth or Northampton

Accrington Stanley could get in the playoffs if they win their games in hand.

For me (it would take a bit of movement):

  • Burton (need to get their skates one to make the play-offs) because they are local.
  • Shrewsbury (need to do better if Burton are going to win my imaginary play offs!) also because they are local.
  • Bournemouth, because I love a day out at Bournemouth.
  • Cheaterfield,so we can THRASH them.
